Recently got one of these to play the iPod in the car. Really disappointed. I think the thing would work well in a city that has extra FM bandwidth... not in Chicago... seems like driving down I-294 that most bands are taken... if there is a station one or two away, sometimes they bleed into that frequency.

We have one for the wife's ipod and we have not had any problems. Maybe it's because we are in the burbs. Normally it is set to the 89's.

It depends on where the antenna in your car is located too. If it's in the back, I've always had more trouble.

I know that Sirius radios had a built-in transmitter at one time that was so strong that people in other cars near you would get it so they made some regulation to limit how strong the transmitter could be. The built-in ones on Sirius now blow.

In my experience, FM modulators that go directly into your radio and block out signals on that frequency are the only way to go.

With mine, I have my pick of the modulation -- I'm like a kid in a candy store. I don't want to hear no static (and I certainly don't want to hear no jaw)... I set it to 89.9 and play some rock n' roll for the kids next door.

If your car has an auxillary jack, I'd get a player that uses that, I hate the FM transmitter because it is never completely clear.

We had one and it was a piece of caca. Best Buy had a car stereo with the aux jack on sale for $150 & free installation. It was worth every penny.

Mine is full of static around the GR area. I haven't gone on any large trips yet but its set to 106.3FM and when it gets loud it gets the static going. The audio jack in my wifes car works perfectly. I will just wait it out till i get a new ride in a year or so.

It's all about what FM freq you use. My wife has one and it sounds fine. Wife uses 100.1 and it sounds good.

Tried every station... this FM one also has a seek function to find the 3 best stations... all of them are horrible. Just ordered a tape deck adapter for $10... I wish I had an auxilury jack, but no luck. And I'm not sinking any more money into it.

I thought the little input jack looked stupid when I got my car...now I don't know what I would do without it...

I would just throw the car away and get a new one.

Girls have these too. And they're much more fun than a Beetle radio jack. check one out some time!
