Good god, this would be awesome.

Neither the Mars Volta nor Sparta ever really did a lot for me, though I will admit that I preferred Sparta's more-often-than-not mediocrity over The Mars Volta's more-often-than-not unlistenable insanity.

I agree 100%.
think i'd rather listen to James blunt than MV.

I've only got relationship of command by ATDI and I liked it ok - but mars volta is fucking torture.
no idea about sparta though.

sparta is great live. seen them twice. their albums don't seem to capture that excitement though.

I saw Sparta in 2003 when they opened for Pearl Jam and thought they were incredibly boring.

I got into ATDI too late. In Casino Out is a great record.

well...headlining at the metro and opening for the deftones at the vic, they were quite entertaining.
