Any album, any genre, any decade, whatever... I'll start the discussion rolling with a personal favorite RECORD, probably much-maligned these days, but the most memorable and long-lasting from my formative years: Bat out of Hell by Meat Loaf. Any other ideas? |

Spanky, you actually seem like a pretty funny guy, very c.r.e.a.t.i.v.e. and e.n.t.e.r.t.a.i.n.i.n.g, if I did my homework. I apologize if I underestimated you upon first recollection and soon after my haphazard "100 best" list. |

I could never narrow it to one, but one of my more frequent go-to albums is: Earth, Wind & Fire - Last Days & Time (1972) |

I've been trying to find a way to use the horn from the first "interlude" on one of my tracks for a long, long time. Great record. People tend to miss on the early material due to their later hits. |

Alice Cooper From The Inside. He played the album in Concert At The International Amphitheatre an it was awesome. Me and 18,000 of my closest friends tripped our brains out! And since then I've never been the same! |

Different strokes, different folks...don't get me wrong, I like those two albums...but there's something about Achtung Baby that just makes it stand out to me... ...doesn't hurt that it has the single best song ever written on it... |

I prefer EWF's early stuff from '70 to '73 because it had more of a jazz/soul/funk/latin vibe...very unpolished and very raw. I think by the mid-late 70s they were a little more consumed with the mainstream feel-good pop sound. They still had some jazzy tracks but they mostly started to cater to the "We just wanna dance" crowd. Their later "hits" like September, Shining Star, and Let's Groove aren't really "hits" to me, but unfortunately those are the songs most people identify them by...which is a shame. |

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention my co-favorite, which I saw performed live in concert by Brian Wilson himself circa 1999 up in Milwaukee (I know, you're happy for me)... |
