What are your thoughts on this group? A buddy of mine gave me one of their CDs, and just wondering if it is even worth the effort of giving it a listen.

As a non music dick, it's ok, chicks really seem to dig it for some reason.

I kinda like "Sex On Fire". Catchy and riffy.

"Sex on Fire" and "Use Somebody" are the best songs on that album.

I used to kind of like them, but I'm a little worn out on them now.

Mo Boys like KOL. I didn't realize they are 3 Brothers & a Cousin.

A few good songs - a lot of garbage... pretty much like 95% of all bands.
I had the pleasure of paying only half attention to them when they supported U2
@ United Center in 2005... Not a huge fan.

But the good songs I could mention would be (In no order)
Crawl
The Bucket
Notion
On Call is decent enough.
I would suggest you cherry pick what you like off iTunes, or just ignore them all together.
You won't lose sleep either way.

The B-52s should cover "Sex on Fire" with Fred Schneider singing the chorus.

Kings of Leon is one of those bands that Rolling Stone has been telling me for the last five years I should get into, but I just can't. The "hits" Sex on fire and Use Somebody are catchy, but the publicity they receive is a little too much.

I don't get KOL. The stuff I've heard is not the Southern Rock that it was branded to me. Not good.

I'm not much of a music snob, I like about everything except Coldplay and Nickelback, but I like KOL.

Best song off Only By the Night, IMO, is Manhattan.

I don't buy the magazine. I check out the website about once a week to read any interesting music news. They have been hyping Kings of Leon for a long time. I just don't see the appeal.

Check out "Red Morning Light" by them. By far their best song imo

I used my chase rewards for a subscription. I couldn't find anything else I needed. It's good toilet reading now that the mag has been shrunk down to normal sized.

Haven't heard anything by them, but I might give them a spin on LastFM later.

Interesting, I have listened to a lot of their stuff in the last 24 hours and Red Morning Light was probably my least favorite. Sex on Fire and Notion are probably my favorites.

I'm not the biggest fan of the band. That song was on FIFA 2007? 2008? Maybe, enjoyed it a lot.

Their first two albums are a pretty good listen, IMO (more southern rock, more obnoxious, in a good way) - and that stuff is light years ahead of the more homogenized last couple ones
