Let me preface by saying this is a little :drunken:, but I am listening to a good song, Space Oddity by David Bowie. I then see the year of release is 1969. That is roughly 40 years ago, and roughly 10 years before I was born. I'm thinking that it is pretty cool that I like songs now that predated me by that time, and wondering if that could even nearly translate to my parents or older people. My mom was born in 1950 -- could she possibly still like songs from the 1940s? Radio was around by then, and I'm sure they played songs over and over... is there some old 40s crooner song that she would have liked in the 80s? Will I still like Space Oddity in the 2030s? Will it sound like ragtime music does today?

This is the original recording of Space Oddity -- much different than the popular one for those who care:
