Post subject:  Headphones

I probably listen to music at my desk 5-6 hours a day and I was thinking of
upgrading my headphones from the simple stick them in your ear kind to
something along the lines of over the ear style headphones. Just from what
I know of this kind I am only familiar with the Beats by Dr Dre and Skullcandy
variety. Just wanted to see if anyone else has these and can provide some
direction if this is what I want to go for. I have no major problems with the
ones I have now but they wear out quickly and I don't like sticking them
directly into my ears. Maybe I am barking up the wrong tree with these
oversized over the ear styled ones but that is why I am asking if anyone else
has them. Not looking to turn them way up and blow out my eardrums as I
need to be able to hear my phone ring or sense people coming up to talk to
me, just want a nicer cleaner sound if possible. Help please. Thanks in advance.

Skullcandy isn't excellent or anything but you can get them cheap. Beats is pretty good quality but fairly overpriced, but if you can find a good deal they're worth it. I have Sennheiser in-ear headphones and Creative over-the-ear ones. Sennheiser and Shure are possibly the best names out there. I guess it depends on what you're looking to spend.

Yeah, I need to figure that out first I guess. I couldn't see spending more than $100 that is
for sure. The Beats brand seems to be a bit over the top price wise.

In that range I'd look at Sennheiser HD-280, HD-497, or Grado SR-60 (or 80).

Stupid one url rule.
