Very cool.

I enjoy sampling the creative musings of our Honorable Boardmembers.

That starts exactly when?

Finally got around to checking this out. Good stuff. I liked a lot of the beats and
the guitars were very good. I liked the drums on a number of them as well. What
instrument were you rocking shirtless?

Thanks T-Bone, it means alot. :D
I wrote about 90% of the total music and arranged the songs.
I wrote no lyrics and didn't sing on the recording.
I played drums on all tracks.
Guitar solo (if you wanna call it that) on Thursday In Paris.
I played a tympani on Hurtlocker, though it's barely audible. :(
I played a grand piano, Mellotron, Wurlitzer, and some other generic synth on Blindsided.
All in all, it was a cool experience, and I'm proud of the results.
We started the band in 2/99, and recorded this 6/99. So the whole thing happened so fast. We did this in 40 studio hours.
But it was pretty expensive, the guy we sought out in the first place (Mark Rubel) was in and out
of the studio and his associate engineer tracked about 30%. Not what we paid for.
We obviously didn't have time to give it a proper mix, and the vocals could've definitely used more work.
I would say I'm most proud of Blindsided. the last 5 minutes was my ultimate homage to Failure's "Fantastic Planet".
Thank you for listening. 8)

Edited to correct my mistake of stating we started the band in 2/09, I meant Feb 1999.

Yeah, I was pretty sure they weren't your vocals but I would have said they were the weak link
in the whole thing. Maybe because I couldn't hear them that well. If someone was belting them
out a bit you may have had something there. Anyway... pretty cool. Didn't realize you were so
versatile as a musician. I assume you still dabble here and there.

Yeah. I know what you're sayin.
The girl singer, Sarah, was barely out of high school, maybe 20, and just totally green. I respect her efforts at such a young age.
This was also the first foray into singing for Ian, the guy singer. Like I said, we did all of this in 40 hours, and had little time for vocal re-takes.
Sarah has greatly improved, her current band is called Fahri. http://www.myspace.com/wearefahri
She's got a little Karen O in her. :D
Ian's defunct band is The Reckless Hearts. He engineered this at his own studio here in Kenosha. He's the bass player.
Look up "Yer A Blur" on Youtube (stupid 1 url rule).

As far as me, I never say never, but I pretty much lost my "fire and passion" for it. I still LOVE listening to music, but don't make much of it these days.
I've got a bunch of songs though, maybe someday I'll record them, but I hate the sound of my own voice, so I'd have someone else sing 'em.

Never stop writing/recording/playing music!

I still have the passion for it even at 39 goin' on 40.....and my stuff really sucks.
Fuck it, if it makes you feel good then do it! Age means nothing as far as music goes. 8)

I might put up some stuff of my old band from the same time some day, Doghouse Volume...but this is your dime and dancefloor now. 8)

Thank You, Jeff.
I guess my discouragement is a combination of not wanting to haul drums around, most of the lyrics I wrote in the past were
about shitty relationships, but I've been happily married for almost 7 years, so I got nothing to write about. I also have to fear the cops if I plug in my Tele.
I have a 4 year old daughter. Can't make too much noise, etc. et al.
I wake up with songs in my head, I gotta figure out how to deal with it before I fucking die.

You will, you will. Just gotta find someone with a basement or garage and the right circumstances. I've got plenty to write about after this past year.

NICE!!!

Solid songs and really good production. Talented musicianship. Damn, too bad it's so hard to keep a band going.

People and their stuff. :?

Nice job!!!!

Yeah. Little snapshots of who you were as a player at that particular time.

I'm always disappointed at how little I improve over the years as opposed to how much I "think" I'm growing as a musician...

The plateaus are more common than the climb that's for sure...

I'm going to get some old stuff up on Mediafire sometime tonight. 8)
