So my Daughter & a bunch of her Girlfriends went to this event on the southside this weekend, & as a long time fan of Wayne Coyne & the Flaming Lips, I mentioned to my Daughter that she has got to see their show, that it is a must see event that she will never ever forget. She had no idea who the lips were. While David Gray was performing, a guy walks up to my Daughter & her friends & asks them if they are sticking around for the Flaming Lips performance & they say yes & the guy asks them if they want to go onstage with the band, & obviously they say yes. The Girls all get wristbands to get them backstage & onstage. My Daughter & her friends spent the entire 90 minutes of the Lips set onstage...all dressed like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, dancing & acting the fool! The Lips open their show with "Somewhere Over The Rainbow", so yea...wow. Needless to say my Daughter is now a big Wayne Koyne fan! |

I was excited for this Dark Side of The Moon remake album last year, and bought it right when it was released. It was absolutely terrible. She brought home Waynes set list which he signed & wrote a bunch of goofy stuff on. The first half of the show was all Lips tunes, with the second half almost every song from DSOTM. My oldest Son us a big Flaming Lips fan but didnt go to the show, so after the show was over my Daughter asks Wayne Koyne to call him from her cell phone, which he does. My Son answers the call around 10:15 & Koyne says "Hey, its Wayne Koyne from the Flaming Lips...hows it going? My Son couldn't fucking believe it. |
