Haven't seen a show at the Congress, but bought tix for me and the wifey for a little Les Claypoole and company. Anyone else interested?

Hopefully, we'll get a little:

Despite my namesake, Over the Electric Grapevine is a helluva song played live.

The Congress blows. Biggest shithole of a venue in Chicago. I hope this place burns down (but not when you are in it).

I saw them at the Aragon for their last show on the Hallucinogenics tour. They played the whole Frizzle Fry album. They have a DVD for it.

Picked up the new album... not their greatest, but some good riffs on a couple songs. I'll tell ya how the show went. I wonder what the age of the crowd is gonna be?

Had a great time. Mrs. Mud suffered through most of it... she was a champ because this ain't her cup of tea. Les played two one-hour sets. In between they showed Popeye cartoons. Congress doesn't have great accoustics, but they do well with what they got. The crowd was a eclectic group from hipsters, burnouts, and suburban dildos (me). The band sounded good and thankfully played only a couple songs in the second set from the new album. The video screen was a bit of a distraction. I would have rather seen more of Les. And I'm sure it would have been more entertaining if I was partaking of illegal substances. A band either changes or goes back to its roots. Primus is doing the latter, which is fine with me. As you can see, they are even reusing set pieces from 5+ years ago?

Looks like it was a cool show, I like the video board in the background.

There was a section of the concert where they went into a Rush song (sounded a bit like La Villa Strangiato for all you Rush heads)... so maybe they went with the Rush set up (Geddy on the left and Alex on the right) ;).
