Hasn't Rolling Stone already done this list? And Clapton at #2? |

I'm not that big a fan of Hero Rock but Joe Satriani should have displaced Townsend... I mean we're talking skill here right? Not popularity? |

I'd have Buddy Guy over B B King. Hometown meatball. Cant see any argument with Hendrix as number 1. Keith Richards as 4 though?? |

WestmontMike wrote: Typical. Popularity/influence...maybe. Greatest guitarists in history? No. Right. Cause if that's true, GREATEST guitarists, you have to think about Les Paul. And I'd take SRV over Clapton ANY DAY. |

B. B. King is an incomplete guitarist. Shouldnt be near the top ten in "General guitar" category |

rogers park bryan wrote: B. B. King is an incomplete guitarist. Shouldnt be near the top ten in "General guitar" category This was my initial thought. I have a lot of B.B. King stuff and have listened to him for the past 20 years but never has the thought popped into my head, " he's one of the greatest of all time". Although not in the top 10, Robbie Robertson was a pretty damn good player as well. |

Honestly, who did you guys think was going to be on the Rolling Stone list of Top Ten Guitarists of All Time or whatever? This is the same list as it was 20 years ago. It's the same list it's going to be 100 years from now. |

Slash is floored by this. Also,Les Paul is King. What about Ace Freehly and George Harrison? Also Roy Clark and Glen Campbell. |

A tuba player has more chance of making it on that list than Joe Satriani or the guy from Dokken have of knocking Pete Townshend off of it. |
