Seeing a show Monday evening. I used to live in the area but was close enough to walk/stumble to
that part of town if I wanted. I know there are some nice bars right there including my all time
favorite I just don't know where there is any good parking. I am pretty sure there are spots on
Water St but not sure how long the meters last. I know there is lot parking north 3 or 4 blocks by
the Water St bars but it is a bit of a haul. Just seeing if anyone had any suggestions. Normally I
wouldn't worry about it but depending on if we get a cold snap, a half mile walk may become pretty
miserable. Just seeing if anyone had anything. Could always find a parking garage and try to cab
it too.

That is the area I knew about. Probably just do it that way and walk a bit. Weather has been so
nice lately but not sure about next week. I'll just suck it up and walk it and hope my date doesn't
mind too much.

It's a couple of blocks and you can walk through the office buildings to get there.

Thanks for the tip. I knew about the outdoor lots but forgot about the parking structure.
I have never been to the Pabst before and the show is general admission, do you have any
suggestions on where to sit if we have any choice. Show should be almost exclusively
acoustic.

Lower floor, dead center...about 25 rows from the stage so, when sitting you are the same height as the performer.

i saw the cinematic titanic there a year or two ago (or, the mst3k "quitters brigade" as my brother calls them, as everyone involved quit mst3k at some point during its run... well except maybe mary jo pehl, who i was drunk enough to seriously sit there and contemplate her potential attractiveness... good god) I DIGRESS, there was some goofy parking thing i remember but my brother being the mst-ie that he is paid for all that shit and i was along for the ride. i liked the fact that they didn't rape you too badly for tallboy PBRs there, even tho the theatre had a relative amount of grandeur.

then, i proceeded to fall asleep like 5 minutes into the movie that they did. that was my brilliantly poignant social commentary on their work, as i'd much rather go cram into golf mill's movie theatre and see a simulcast of some rifftrax live stuff for ~$10-12 than spend like $35-50 to go see the quitters brigade hang on to something they needed so badly they walked away from it when the getting was good.

all in all, pabst theatre = ok cinematic titanic = i'm not enough of a fucking dork to spend $50+ to go see them. i remember the condescending look on joel hodgson's face as he signed everyone's shit and tried to force smiles, and then when i got up to him, amazingly enough, he seemed miffed that i wasn't in awe of him, didn't want an autograph, or especially care that he was right there. can't have it both ways, joel!

Yeah tickets to this show were $25 a piece and then they kinda rake you over the coals with fees but
overall it should be worth it. I had a really good time the last time I went up and saw a show at
Turner Hall, this should be a little more formal.

I used to live close to there 10 years ago and would consider parking on the street but
don't want a traffic ticket......ahhhhrrrgghhh... Nevermind, I know what you are saying.
Just didn't know if anyone had a good tip for a spot close to the theater.

Like Doug said there are a few parking garages right around there. The nice part about Milwaukee is you can walk across the entire downtown area in about 20 mins

do any of you guys fuck with the german breweries right by the bradley center if you're up there to see a bulls/bucks game? i know last year some "new" yuppie-ish decidedly-ungerman spot opened up right next to that old-fashioned alehouse (not to be confused with the super-ritzy restaurant a few slots down) and that's OK i mean, shit, my parents like the american fare....

but for me, get me a giant stein of the darkest german beer they got at that oldfashioned ale house and i'm ready to go hang a L on scott skiles, know what i'm sayin?

btw, speaking of skiles, i was just thinking someone should compile a youtube video mash of eddy curry's career "highlights" juxtaposed with a riveting rendition of van halen's "jump"... that'd be suitably hilarious =D

Major Goolsby's and Buck Bradleys are both decent places. I prefer Turners right across the street. I am sure
the German restaurant Mader's has some good stuff but never been in there.

Due to the mild weather Monday evening this was pretty much a non issue. What a great place to
see a show though.
