Not sure.

Lolla 94 (Pumpkins, Green Day, Tribe, Beasties, P Funk) or Twisted 97 (Weezer, Violent Femmes, Korn, Gravity Kills)

Went to Farm Aid a couple of times down at Tinley. Bands I remember included Dave Matthews,
John Mellencamp, Ziggy Marley, Black Crowes maybe? Not too certain.

I was never big on festivals, but I was at this one. This was actually the first concert I ever went to.

The greatest show I've seen in a festival-type environment was Flaming Lips at Lollapalooza several years ago. It was a magical show in the late twilight. Just awesome. I'm pretty sure Kanye flipped his wig later on that same night.

But it can't really feel the same for me as it did when I was younger. It's a long time ago but the "Day In The Park" at old Comiskey was awesome. Or at least I remember it that way. I was fucked up pretty good but it was Foreigner, Aerosmith, and Walter Egan Band. "Magnet And Steel", motherfuckers!

I was also at the Speedway Jam in Rockford, the one with Black Sabbath and Blue Oyster Cult, and I'm pretty sure Molly Hatchet played too.

Only two I've been to are Ozzfest 2001 (Black Sabbath, Marilyn Manson, Black Label Society), and PJ20 at Alpine Valley last year (Pearl Jam, The Strokes, Queens of the Stone Age, Mudhoney, and technically Temple of the Dog for a few songs both nights).

Going to Music Midtown in Atlanta tomorrow to see Pearl Jam. Garbage, Florence and the Machine, Neon Trees, and Ludacris are the other acts performing that I've heard of, though haven't listened to.

Lollapalooza 96. Hot. Pecatonica County Fairgrounds up by Rockford. Bands were good.

Some Q101 fest in 95 or 96 out in Tinley Park. Garbage was good and so was Stabbing Westward. I think it rained that day.

You should have
They were good
Not great, but solid. It was fun. Since then I bought their first LP because it was only like 10$, I like it. It doesn't feel like there's a whole lot of substance there and there probably isn't, but again - it's fun. Like 3 chord punk. I like stuff you don't have to think about

In re: the post topic, I'd say in quality of the actual bands playing, probably the 4th Lollapalooza- Breeders, Flaming Lips, Guided By Voices, Tribe Called Quest, Boredoms, Beastie Boys, Nick Cave, Smashing Pumpkins...there were some heavy hitters there

since the original format of Lollaplaooza fizzeld I'd say Pitchfork. As I've mentioned before the size is manageable, the crowd is pretty cool, the price is very reasonable and there are always some good things to check out

I couldn't ever see myself going to something of the magnitude of Coachella or Glastonbury or something like that. That's why I like Pitchfork- 20-30K is more than enough people....I don't want to go to something where there's 100K people and you have to walk a mile to get to a different stage
