Agreed, but I would change that to 80% after Signals.

Hmmmm, I would say 60% after Signals.

Excluding most of Counterparts, of course.

I'm not a lyrics guy or song meaning guy, I just like to crank up the sounds that I love. That said, does Rush have any songs about women? I know there's songs about trees and forests and things and stuff, but anything centered around the relationship concept?

"Trees" is actually about eating pussy.

Didn't want to sidetrack the Rush talk but didn't want a whole new RRHOF thread either...

Just noticed Public Enemy and N.W.A. were nominated this year. I think they are both pretty
important as far as rap and hip hop music are concerned. With, in my opinion, a weaker class
this year I think at least one will get in. My vote would go with Public Enemy due to a larger
catalog and a stronger message about culture and politics. Also they were one of the if not the
first rap groups to meld metal and rap with the iconic song Bring The Noize with Anthrax.

So along with Rush, they have nominated Procul Harum, who had exactly one song that anyone even knows about, Donna Summer, who was a disco singer, and two rap groups.

Yet another year has gone by without any recognition for Sonic Youth. It looks as if my boycott of this sham museum may have to continue for another year.

Just looking only at the "S" category, clearly Sonic Youth must not be as great as current inductees Pete Seeger, Del Shannon, The Shirelles, and Bessie Smith. Go ahead, name one song by Pete Seeger, Del Shannon, The Shirelles, and Bessie Smith. You cannot.

Here is a picture of the great ROCK AND ROLL Hall of Famer Pete Seeger.

Come on man! 911 is a joke in my town, which happens to be Cleveland.

I think Bobby Orr is a hell of a hockey player, but I'm not sending him to Cooperstown.

The idea of something that establishes in a genre meant to be anti-establishment is bad enough. That they've changed it from "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" to "Popular Music The Young People Like Which Somewhere Along The Way Maybe Even So Much As Sampled A Guitar Once Hall of Fame" just makes it a totally pointless exercise, nothing more than a desperate death rattle for whatever can be called the Cleveland tourism industry. Donovan, Bill Haley's Comets, and the Beastie Boys, finally having their greatness recognized here in one place!

It is to laugh.  How many songs does Sonic Youth have that anyone even knows about? The inventors of wifecore are the most self-indulgent purveyors of noise this side of Tortoise.

Hey, I'm with you on Sonic Youth: they're nothing more than thirty years' worth of ponderous atonal twaddle, pushed to the moon by easily impressed English majors. But lay off Tortoise!

I can now cross this place off my list of places to burn down. If you have not listened to the new CD,Clockwork Angels. They even adapted the Cd to a novel that I will pick up. As to those who disparage their great catalog,Fuck you, these guys are amazing live and the skill of Peart both on the drums and writing is second to none you illiterate fucks.
I think I am going bald is kinda about relationship stuff. New World Man is about fitting in.
