http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/upcoming_releases/new_nin_material_in_the_works.html?no_takeover Trent Reznor has suggested that new material for Nine Inch Nails is "in the works." In 2009 he had announced that NIN would take a back seat in his career while he worked on film and side projects. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, he hinted that the band that made his name would return — but remained tight-lipped about the details. When asked about the likelihood of new music, he replied: "All signs point to yes." When pressed further, he said "Yeah, there will be new music. There are some things in the works." He added that NIN could also tour again. "Yeah, if it feels right, it's a possibility," he said. "I never said that [touring] wasn't going to happen, just that it couldn't go on as it was. Having a few years doing other things, I've enjoyed [them] and I'm enjoying doing How to Destroy Angels, and there will be a place for stuff that falls in the Nine Inch Nails column of things. It's a different kind of work. Stay tuned." Meanwhile, his side-project How To Destroy Angels which features his wife Mariqueen Maandig (recently appearing in Ultimate Guitar's Hottest Rock Wives Top)and Atticus Ross in the lineup will release their "An Omen" EP on November 13, with a full-length album to follow next year. "Music videos will start to creep out pretty soon. You'll hear about some live performances coming up. That's going to happen next year," he said. |

I'd like to see NIN back. Probably the one group (that wasn't ended by a death) I've never seen that I have completely regretted not seeing. |

Really, you've never seen them? I'm surprised by that...I've seen every tour since 1995. You really should go see them at least once in your life...maybe twice. |

Yeah, I know. They're just one of those bands I repeatedly passed up, and then it was just too late when they finally broke up. I kind of lost interest for awhile when The Fragile was released, so maybe that's why I never saw them. |

Wait...you didn't like The Fragile? It might be the "best collection of songs overall" album he's ever done. |

Gotcha...that makes more sense. "Complication" is one of my most favorite songs ever...and it's an instrumental. And for a comparison/contrast that makes little sense, "The Wretched" is probably my favorite NIN song of all time. |

NIN was the first real concert I saw when I was working at the Rosemont Horizon. I still have the long sleeve from the show. Was one of my better memories in high school. I still use The Fragile when I am coding up software, have been since it was released. Actually, most of Reznor's stuff is great for background music to writing code. Listening to a lot of the Ghost albums. Lack of lyrics helps with thinking. Would be excited for a return. |

I've not perused any of their/his material post The Fragile- and even that was fairly recent, years after it's release. When I finally did, that album stayed put in my disc changer for quite the long time. I know that the touring band includes Robin Finck and Jeordie White (Twiggy Ramirez of Marilyn Manson) - that's some really good talent, so I've been hoping for a while that Reznor ends his hiatus and does something under the NIN banner. |
