Are any of you youngsters out there fans of "The Greatest Band to ever come out of Manchester" - The Smiths? (apologies to the mighty Stone Roses) Morrissey is at the Aragon Ballroom Nov. 21. Anyone going? |

I dabble in the Moz every now and again, but I don't think I'd ever pay to see him live. Dana Gould's impersonation of him is freaking hysterical, however. In other Smiths related news, Johnny Marr will be playing on the forthcoming Modest Mouse album, which I'm kinda looking forward to. |

Modest Mouse with Marr is pretty strange. I heard one of the tracks and it's instantly recognizable as Marr. His album with the Healers is one of the worst albums I've ever purchased I certainly wouldn't mind seeing him live (never have), but the tickets are probably out of my price range at the time |

I wish I were going, stoneroses, but my work/travel schedule will not permit. I'm not such a big fan of Morrisey's solo work, but I'm a sucker for The Smiths. "There Is a Light that Never Goes Out" is one of my all-time favorite songs. |

Permit me to reminisce about a glorious summer's night in 1986. The Mighty Smiths were touring in support of their masterpiece, The Queen is Dead. As a young lad of 21, I sat in awe at perhaps the greatest concert-going experience of my life. And if a double decker bus Killed the both of us To die by your side Is such a heavenly way to die Indeed. |
