Nas wrote: I loved it. Lyrically there are many in his league. Did you mean "Aren't"? Good verse but I dont think its that derogatory. I mean he did include the line I got love for you all But this will spark a nice Im the Best, no Im the best fight between him, Krit, Cole, and maybe Tyler The others he named dont even warrant mentioning, though Im glad he ripped them |

I want to see some good rap battles. They don't have to turn into Pac and Big but it would make the listening experience better. |

joell ortiz took the bait. PHAROAHE MONCH @pharoahemonch 7h Thank the good Lord for Kendrick. #lyricism is being discussed. pretty much that. pharoahe monch is the best rapper in new york, it's not really much of a debate. |

Lupe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99pEsiqxFzY&feature=youtu.be Phil Jackson You tag Phil Jackson in a rap song, he'll tag you right back -- just ask Kendrick Lamar ... who got a free lesson in ego management from the Zen Master after droppin' his name in a new song. 67-year-old Jackson was definitely listening when 26-year-old Lamar called him out in Big Sean's new song, "Control" -- a song that includes the lyrics: "Who the f**k y’all thought it’s supposed to be? If Phil Jackson came back, still no coachin’ me I’m uncoachable, I’m unsociable." Jackson -- who's no stranger to dealing with egomaniacs (or people named Lamar) ... shot back on Twitter moments ago ... with a message aimed right at Kendrick: “@kendricklamar it’s okay to be cocky and sure, but we all need somebody to lean on. Let’s just call it mentoring." Can't argue with zen. Read more: http://www.tmz.com/2013/08/13/phil-jack ... z2byWKIjmE Visit Fishwrapper: http://www.fishwrapper.com |

Kendrick straight kilt it. Happy to hear my guy Jay Electronica on the track too. Big Sean had the weakest verse on his own song, still dig him though. |

Still listening to all the early K Dot and Black Hippy stuff. He's just so good all around. Versatile. Flow, lyrics, all kinds of styles. Here is a proper tribute, as opposed to Drake's embarassment West Coast Wu Tang |

Music was, is, and always will be about people's emotions. There are many different vehicles for it. Some people like hip hop, some like jazz, some like Michael Bolton, and some like Emo. Its beauty is in the eye of the beholder |

This guy's music is about other people's music? Without hearing it myself...this is how you described the lyrics. |

Anyway if I did it was just referring to the specific song that was the reason Nas started this thread I'd say his music topics are pretty broad for hip hop. Mostly just about growing up To me his flow and punch line lyrics are awesome. And he's versatile. |

i was slow to come around, but i'm sold i think originally i didn't really see anything that stood out about him, just seemed like an average flow and style but his lyrics are ridiculously strong/good, he really is the best there is out there right now i think and the fact that he pretty much owns any song he's featured on that's always a good sign |

It was obviously originally gonna be just Cole and KRIT (hence the country part in the chorus) but Kendrick ended up coming in and murdering em as usual. And J. Cole and Krit both have good verses. |
