Why do drummers with 3+ toms/cymbals get ragged on but guitarists operate with impunity with all their effects pedals and bevy of guitars?

I understand that. Just don't understand why drummers with big kits are sometimes demonized, but a guitarist can swap out for a another every other song all the while playing all those pedals. It's unfair, damn it!

I never heard anyone rag on Neal Peart for the size of his kit, Omaha Styleez.

I don't know about Neal Peart, but Neil Peart is pretty much the poster boy for this type of criticism. Usually from minimalist/jazzer/traditional-grip brownshirt types.

some kits are ridiculous...some guitar rigs are as well.

i think the tendency lately is to consolidate things...the technology allows it.
Admittedly, I have way too much stuff and will be selling off guitars and pedals over the next few months...cheap!

Shit. I just got the 7 year old a Beringer VP 1 off of ebay. I would have rather given the money to you.

He actually recorded Test For Echo using traditional grip.

As Neil himself once said, "sometimes less is not more...sometimes less is less." :D

Here's Mike Mangini's kit, which is even more tricked out...

For the last several many years and tours he has used the old school grip. Since he took up with Freddie Gruber and he became his mentor till he died.

Don't worry. I'm here to demonize anyone who needs more than a Telecaster and a Fender Twin.

In no fucking way does Rush suck. You may not like them, but they do not suck.

To the OP: Bonamassa is a true gear whore. He has some incredible stuff. He can actually play it, too.
