Same thing as the thread last year. Post about upcoming shows and festivals including shows you plan on
attending.

The Head and The Heart just scheduled three shows in the U.S. between dates in Canada, one of them being
in Milwaukee. Planning on getting presale tix today.

by the way, so it's written down and recorded...here are my predictions
i bet i hit on 1/2 of these or more (and yes i know some have played before but many have played multiple years)

Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks
Real Estate
Speedy Ortiz
Parquet Courts
Washed Out
Action Bronson
Panda Bear
Disclosure
Ty Segall
Chvches
Tennis
Chance the Rapper
Blood Orange

dark horses:
Outkast- probably playing Lolla instead, Pitchfork probably too small
The Knife- assuming they're playing a club date instead
Janelle Monae- its wishful thinking on my part since i like her so much, but they usually have a semi-headlining female like M.I.A., Solange, etc. and Janelle Monae would fit in with that and isn't so massively popular she's be too big for the fest

super super dark horse:
Aphex Twin- not sure why, just a weird feeling

Artists do play multiple times, but not usually in consecutive years, so I'd strike Blood Orange and Parquet Courts from the list.
I'd be surprised if Real Estate comes back so soon, and I'd be thrilled if Ty Segall is there. He was really good when we saw him.

I'd like to see Disclosure too, but think they are Lolla bound as well.

Post subject:  Re: 2014 Concerts Thread

Yeah you're right about the consecutive years thing so maybe not

And of last years headliners I don't think any of them had an album they were promoting...i know r Kelly out out an album recently but I think it was after the fest

So really no clue on who could be headlining
But that's good I think
I like to be surprised

But now that you've brought the fest up, I remember last year they did 3 day passes early bird like around Xmas time before the lineup was announced they didn't do that this year
Riot fest did but I wasn't biting on that ...

I would have to be absolutely blown away by the lineup for me to ever go to Riot Fest again.
Hassle to get to, poorly set up on the grounds, and pretty damn expensive for what it is.

I don't know that I'll ever got to Lolla again either (never been in Grant Park), but I would much rather blow money on Lolla than Riot Fest ever again.

Pitchfork is the perfect size and set up for my tastes. I agree the headliners will be complete surprises again.

Bottled water and PBR. Get to the lot early, and make a quick $100.

Then our chocolates are free.

yeah i guess for someone like that there's really no choice. they're too big to play a small place like Metro and too small to play an arena

not sure how quickly those Kraftwerk tickets sold out but it was pretty damn quick, luckily i got in right at 10am

now i just have to remember the Knife tomorrow at 10am, can't fuck that one up

You like chick bands, I'm sure you'd like her. She's not exactly upbeat and uplifting though.
