Seems like this thread starts earlier each year. I can't remember the organizers revealing acts as early as
they have this year. Today they announced Dave Matthews Band, who usually plays Alpine ( and probably
will be there again at some point this year ). Also announced earlier were Lady Gaga and Zac Brown Band.

As usual, if you want to announce any musical acts you hear about or want to see post it here.

They didnt sell out the major acts last year till last minute. Its not like its empty, but always some decent seats for these shows, which i think is a good thing

They usually get some pretty good bands playing for free so it would take a lot for me to buy a ticket to
see someone at the Ampitheater there.

I would pay to not see Dave Matthews.

Saw him once. That was enough.

More bad sing alongs in that show than a Dashboard show.

Clark the Bear's favorite band is probably DMB.

Their unique cover of 'Under the Bridge Downtown' ended up being rather shitty ...

See, you should all address him correctly like Frank does "Clark The Bear"

Bruno Mars signed on to kick off the first night. While I would never go see his show I don't specifically
hate his music per se. I also really thought he did a great job on SNL when he hosted this past season.
He is a natural entertainer. Will be interesting how the Super Bowl thing works out for him.

The ad for him in the super bowl is going to cause me to destroy my TV.

Assuming the Nissan/MIA song commercial doesn't cause me to do that first.

Is that the YOLO song for the Rogue? They have been playing that commercial nonstop for the
past 3 weeks it seems.

That's the one. It's "YALA" - you always live again. :| :x

I actually like MIA too, but that's just overkill.

I can't imagine their act has aged particularly well. Probably the same story for a majority of their fans :eye:

Nothing would put a smile on my face more than reports of Hawger crowd surfing at this one.

Ive seen them a couple times. My buddy is a huge fan. The shows are fun.

And if you're looking for a mid 30's blonde chick with low self esteem, accept no substitute.

Those mid 30's blonde chicks are now in their mid 40's and time has not been on their side. Just imagine the Sturgis crowd minus all the hot young bartenders chicks. Might I recommend that anyone attending this show watch a marathon of Full Throttle Saloon to get primed?

I love Summerfest. I'm always amazed at the sound quality at every stage, even the smallest ones. The band I'm in submitted to jam up there. That would be cool to throw down up there, even if it was an empty house, although we have quite a few friends north of the border...

What is the process of trying to get in there out of curiosity? Do you send a demo cd or dvd and have to fill out
a bunch of forms? Is there a fee of some sort?

Latest headliners to be added include Outkast with Gary Clark Jr opening on June 29th. Earlier this week
Fall Out Boy and Paramore were slotted for July 5th.

There is a handful of bands I wouldn't mind seeing but it will depend on the schedule.
