I remember a Roeper Sun Times article back in the day around the time this album came out saying theres no way anyone will have heard of Green Day 10 years from then. It is important to keep in mind that one of the best songs off the album, Welcome to Paradise, was taken off the Kerplunk album. I think I actually like Kerplunk better but Dookie is pretty damn awesome and it was a gateway into most of the music I listened to and still listen to today. |

I did one of those buy 10 cd's for 5 dollars and then buy one a month club things that year....and damn was it a good year for that. I think in my initial shipment was Weezer, Snoop's Doggystyle and Dookie. I never paid for that thing either. It just went away. |
