This in Vegas this year? Good times, if you like bad music and worse drugs and annoying teenagers***. Used to be at the LA Coliseum.

DEMF/Movement last weekend in Detroit would've been a better event to check out if you haven't been to a large-scale EDM event before. And Detroit has casinos now.

***at least that was the LA Coliseum version of EDC. I have friends from Chicago into the electronic music scene out in Vegas (they DJ at casino clubs and what not). They rave about Vegas EDM events. Daft Punk played outside there a few years ago in the Fall. Said it was closer to DEMF (older heads and better music/drugs) than Coachella/a kiddie rave.

yes, going to be there that weekend and the Hardrock has a VIP area, with transportation, tickets etc. So I dont need to crowd surf.

I will take Vegas over Deytwa

If it's Hard Rock, then fuck yeah. Place will be wall-to-wall hotties. And day pool parties at the Hard Rock hotel in between the overnight sessions? Image

We already have the cabana angle covered during the days at the pool. Even if that place is kinda seedy during the summer. I think it is like a bar and u have to be 21, so they have cops at the door checking ID's, they have a pool cover and the line is pretty long just to get in. Cabana makes for a good day! Got the mist machine, ceiling fan, TV, day beds, phone to order food, drink and other stuff.

November goes to this and other similar events around the country.

We're not as tight as we used to be. :)

hey biggie.... if you go make it a point to check out andy c. he's pretty much the best drum and bass DJ in the world, and uhhh.... oh fuck ed rush and optical are there. they're my favorite drum and bass producers. they're pretty OK at djing, but it's their actual taste in music that's up on a pedistal whereas andy c is way better at flipping through tracks (hope you dont end up with a drum and bass mc.... they can all fuck off for what its worth)

but hey even tho they prolly charge you like $100-200 to show up at the thing, it's not a bad night at all if you catch andy c and ed rush and optical in the offing.... and this is from a guy who had to be reminded that he saw grooverider back in the day.

ah yeah here's an andy C mix without a MC.... i love how it's a 2013 mix but he'll go and mix in that old ed rush and optical record "sick note" around ~12:00-14:00..... you know, the one drum and bass track that goes WAH WAH WAH WAH..... WAH WAH WAH WAH WAH..... WAH WAH WAH WAH... WAWAWAWAWAWA.... WAH WAH WAH WAH WAH WAH >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHeNJBxZM9M

So are these shows basically like listening to an mp3 with bigger speakers and more people?

the worst part about drum and bass MCs is the rewind. totally unnecessary.... i rate this guy skibadee as just about the best drum and bass MC i've ever heard but if you listen to this one check out when he felt the need to say that the crowd's ass was so kicked by the track they needed a rewind >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtHbA1wvHgY

about the only good thing the rewind ever did was give us this nice remix of a cylob track which does explain the ethos of the rewind.... but it's too often abused by the contemporary drum and bass MC as a means to give them a spotlight to babble some more.
