Nice little look back. Can't believe it's already been ten years since Blueberry Boat, The College Dropout, Funeral, and Get Away From Me. Also, Stylus was a cool alternative to Pitchfork when the latter seemed to be almost irretrievably up their own ass. Now they just give everything an 8.5 so they don't alienate potential fest acts.

I'd probably slot Funeral in at #1 for that year, with Get Away From Me at #2 and When I Said I Wanted to Be Your Dog at #3. Blueberry Boat hasn't aged well for me at all; it's in a stratum of albums from my late teens/early twenties that have become just really, really hard for me to dig back up again. Shame about Nellie McKay sort of calling it a career. I thought she had just as much potential as Regina Spektor, who did capitalize on hers.

I accidentally downloaded that Embrace album because I was trying to explore, you know, that other Embrace. "Ashes" was a good vanilla-alt song. Surprised they never went on to do much more.

EDIT: no, no, no, a bunch of the songs I thought were on When I Said I Wanted to Be Your Dog are actually on Oh You're So Silent Jens. It's not better than Nellie's debut. Inverted 2 and 3. I think "The most lovable thing since fucking Eminem" was my sig here for a year or two.

American Music Club and Arcade Fire are the only 2 records on that list I can say I've ever even heard.
Shit, I never even knew about those Nick Cave albums......
I guess I was too busy in 2004 drinking and getting married and watching my stepdad slowly slip away to cancer.

Furscainte is a god to me.

I think that is Ghostfaces weakest effort behind More Fish, and I will say Fishscale is my favorite. Franz wasn't bad nor really good.

Neat little piece on Funeral here. Revisiting it really underscores how much Reflector sucks.

Don't let James Murphy within a mile of your band. Poor Arcade Fire.
