Pass. Not sure I'd go to Riot Fest again, even for free.

Ok, maybe for free, depending on the lineup.

A band I kinda know is looking to a book a show or two in Chicago in 2015. They were asking me for help in finding the right venue. Anyone got any good suggestions for a 150-200 person venue? The band is sorta hard rock/metalish/punk, so they would want the venue's scene to be similar to that taste.

My thoughts were:
Beat Kitchen
Liars Club
Cobra Lounge
Hideout

I know Schubas is about that size, but they seem to only attract indie shit.

Anyone got any other ideas? What's the capacity of Subterranean?

Ben Kweller/Lydia Loveless/Rhett Miller/Bobby Bare, Jr/more @Metro this Saturday

Might have to leave before Kweller finishes.

I was contemplating going to this, but I've got other plans.

Ben Kweller is fine.

I like some of his stuff, other stuff not so much. Gonna have to see how the set goes.
There are like 8 acts scheduled for about 3 hours time, so it may only be a couple songs each anyway.

Kweller sucks, but the rest of that lineup is fantastic. I'm jealous. Is this a Bloodshot anniversary show?

That's what I was thinking. Early sets will probably be about 15-20 mins. Later sets maybe 30-40.

Can't believe I forgot to mention:
U2
United Center
6/29/15
Row 12 in Section 311.
Don't care, just want to be in the building.
:D
Bono just said last week that due to his accident, he might not be able to
ever play guitar again, but that shouldn't stop him from singing.
Hope the tour begins as planned.

Might have to leave before Kweller finishes.

There were a couple "surprise" guests, I suppose:
Maps & Atlases for a couple songs and a quick set by JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound.
I learned something about JC that night that I didn't know previously. :drunken:

Anywho - Lydia Loveless is an amazing performer. She's a little more country than I'm used to, but there is no denying what she does live. That being said......sad to say I'd be stunned if she makes it to 35. That girl is a train wreck.

Bummer, I would have liked to see JC Brooks. Haven't had a chance to check them out yet. What did you learn?

Dude is on fire. He made really really good use of duct tape under his stretchy yoga pants and cowboy boots.
