So I'm no expert and I am watching the Song Remains the Same for the 40th time (albeit drunk). But has there ever been a more evocative guitarist? With a violin bow? |

Chus wrote: DannyB wrote: But has there ever been a more evocative guitarist? With a violin bow? Nigel Tufnel I'll take Nigel. I'm going to get roasted for this, but I'm not a fan of Jimmy Page Lead Guitarist. I'm a huge fun of Jimmy Page the songwriter and producer, but always thought of him as a sloppy lead guitarist. I like him a lot and find his skills and style underrated. Sadly, he cannot seem to align himself with a stable lineup and frontman for continued success. I liked some of the VR stuff, but I would not have chosen Weiland. Others on my overrated list: Zakk Wylde Dimebag Underrated: Alex Lifeson Steve Lukather |

Fuck Eric Clapton. He should be sentenced to death for rewriting Layla as something my great grandparents might have sung to grandpa as they were putting him to bed. |

I can't think of one Lifeson riff. I can think of about 20 for Page or Richards. |

Neil Peart is the reason I took up the drums many years ago, but Lifeson continues to amaze me. Such a nuanced style. |
