Yes, I have heard of Jimi Hendrix but have honestly never heard his work. Just found a CD in Wal-Mart's $5 bin and bought it. What should I expect/take note of? |

Not sure why that's so hard to believe. I know he's considered one of the greatest - just never heard his stuff. |

If it's like most CDs in those bins I would "expect" poor sound quality and "take note of" the generic liner notes. I do love me some Jimi though. |

C_Howitt_Fealz wrote: 1. Purple Haze in all seriousness, you have to put it in the perspective of the era. He was not only an extraordinary guitarist but completely unique and defiant. I would also note that the other band members were skilled as well...just overshadowed by a dominant talent.

This would be perfect to play while watching the Simpsons for the 1st time. |

It is literally impossible that you've never heard Hendrix. Literally. It's in hundreds of commercials. Hundreds. You've never watched wrestling? You don't watch television? Or seen Wayne's World? Or listened to any given FM station for more than 30 minutes? what a load of horseshit. No one here is stupid enough to fall for this trolling nonsense. |

Never seen Wayne's World. Nope, don't watch wrestling or MMA (though I used to watch some boxing). Simpsons - I have never tuned in to it. I've probably caught maybe a half hour total over its run. The truth? Last movies I saw in the theater were: 1. Sicko 2. Supersize Me 3. Fools Rush In 4. In The Line of Fire I saw that Richard Gere framed-in-China-for-murder one, too. Oh, and La Ley de Herodes at Marcus about a decade ago. But that's it for my theater-going. |

Is this what you bought? Young Furious spent many an afternoon in high school drumming along to Mitch Mitchell's manic beats. Still, I am left with: Douchebag wrote: The fuck?

You're the guy who regales us with tales of backpacking through Cambodia eating granola off a teenage hooker's ass and yet your rich life has never had time to hear "Purple Haze"? |

When he listens to it, I'm certain 4-6 charts will be recognized ... a case of "I didn't know he/she/they did this song". Not a big deal. |

Good for his time but overrated as a whole. Music for old people who can't accept there has been many guitarists who have come along who are better at the craft. |

Hendrix had more "personality" than any guitarist who ever lived. I have quite a bit of Hendrix at home but don't listen to it very often. Very talented performer. Probably not the best guitarist of all time but he's in the team photo. |

i dont believe this. honestly. i started listening to hendrix at like age 5 on the radio. we all did then i really LISTENED to his music at age 16 when i was doing all that acid. there is nothing like hendrix while tripping, it will freak you out but if you are telling the truth, then just go to spotify and listen to the full Axis:Bold as Love album. Make sure youre fucked up first it will be even better. |
