Yeah, but that was by a kid, wasn't supposed to be an artistic statement.
I'm talking more like "music made by adults that they would like you take seriously".
How about this one?

This one also gets the award for "Most unintentionally hilarious video of all time".

I think you mean Rosanna, and no, that song does not suck in any way.
It might just be too smooth for your tastes.

ETA - the solo vocalist with the mustache cracks me up with his affectations, though.

It's ok.

Anytime someone tried to bum regular rides with me to work back when I worked in the burbs--"hey, let's commute together"--I'd hit em with this one-two punch of musical atrocity and they tended to bugger off:

Not as effective in the age of everyone having their own personal audio device and earbuds. But it did ward off a couple of ride-jumpers back in the day. One chick still brings it up every so often when we hang out. Kid 606 leaves a mark.

American Pie

It is not Party all the Time by Eddie Murphy despite what some websites say.

Totally agree on American Pie. That song fucking blows.
And LMFAO at Kid 606 - Straight Outta Compton.
That was hilarious.

I'm still literally laughing.

I love "Party All The Time" got that signature Rick James beat and feel to it. I'll bump that song and look at you like you don't know what's up.

I never cared for "American Pie." Seemed to be on the radio a whole lot when I was a kid so maybe I was just sick and tired of it. I was always under the assumption it was about the Buddy Holly - Ritchie Valens - Big Bopper plane crash. A few years back this guy I knew started breaking down the lyrics and clueing me in how it was a much deeper song. It's still not a go to song, but I do have a new appreciation for it.

American Pie, Cats in The Cradle, Hotel California might just be the unholy triumvirate of "Classic Rock Bullshit".
Can we shit on something a little more recent?

Hotel California does not suck and it's silly to even suggest something like that. That's trying to be counter-culture just to be counter-culture.

Did you know that song's about heroin? I've actually done (well, tried/railed few folds, no needles) the stuff and I did not know that until recently. Image

Also, the entire catalog of Alison Chains.

No HC sucks. It's not counter culture.

How do you not know you are doing heroin? What was it like?

no, we knew we were doing heroin. I didn't know until recently that Hotel California is about heroin.

I puked and then nodded off for a bit and then snapped to feeling all alright. I think we both puked the first time.

No I never knew that. I know Hey Jude is about heroin and She Bop is about masturbation.

There's nothing counter-culture about hating HC, or The Eagles in general.
In fact, it's quite a mainstream sentiment.
And Alice in Fucking Chains can eat a dick.
Why anyone reveres Layne Staley as a great singer/frontman/whatever is completely beyond me.
He looked like a goddamned duck and his voice was easily the worst of the Seattle grunge "Big 4" (Cobain, Cornell, Staley, Vedder).

Don't care about Alice in Chains but his story makes me kinda sad.

Yeah, Alice In Chains.

Same person who told me about HC also played a bunch of AC for me and explained about the drug thing.

Has to be a contender.

Plant a seed, plant a flower, plant a rose
You can plant any one of those
Keep planting to find out which one grows
It's a secret no one knows
