Found an old box of cassette tapes I had put away 20 or so years ago. Going through them and tossed most in the pile to donate or give away. Then I saw Smithereens 11 and Green Thoughts and remembered that although I had not heard either for quite some time I really liked both back in the day so I took them to my 2005 Buick Le Sabre that still has a player in it and took a cruise. Wow. Remembered why I loved them long ago. Ordered CDs today so I can play in my newer cars and for home use. They were really good should have been bigger IMO.

Girl Like You was biggest single I believe was supposed to be theme song for movie Say Anything but they chose another one. Blood and Roses, Only A Memory, Blues Before and After, House We Used To Live In were ones the old pirate FM college station in West Cent Ill/Eastern Ia used to spin when I was way younger. Too Much Passion Off of Blow Up made top 40 also it was more a sappy slow love song that got a lot of play also.

2 old reliables: The Smithereens and a LeSabre.

I've got a 99 and I keep trying to talk myself into getting a new car but there's no point. The thing runs great. 52 thousand miles with 2 trips to Florida in the last year.

2. Behind the Wall Of Sleep
3. Only A Memory
4. House We used to Live In
5. Beauty & Sadness

My Le Sabre is awesome. Celebration Edition, every option available. 202,000 miles runs like new everything works. I will never get rid of it.

I just spun a few of their hits last week after I played every song in the Decendants' catalog.

My son still runs a 97 LeSabre, the 3800 is bullet-proof.

Saad!!!!

I also forgot about Decendants. Gonna spin that soon. 3800 is best engine ever produced. It is bullet proof. Take care of it and it never quits. Body and frame will go on this Buick before engine ever starts to cost me $.

You have a car that is 16+ years old, that has been to FL and back twice, and only has 52k miles on it?

What did it do while not traveling to FL?

Bought it a year ago with 31000 miles. Previous owner bought it new and died shortly thereafter. Wife didn't drive a whole lot.

Wow, my favorite band.

Last time I saw them was in downtown Downers and Pat DiNizio was about three and a half spins and smoked two packs on stage.

Pat has gotten quite large. Still has the voice though. They are great. He pretty much did it all for them. All original songs were his.

I momentarily got them confused with The Might Lemon Drops, whose World Without End CD I really liked back in 1989.
