Boy, I am really excited to get this one. The last one I purchased which was the full Basement Tape Sessions was pretty great but obviously
rough as it was recorded haphazardly and a lot of goofing on was going on ( part of what makes it fun ). This one tackles possibly Dylan's
most productive and provocative period. As a Dylanophile I couldn't pass up the 6 cd set. The 2cd set would be great for most but it wasn't
enough when I saw the full breadth of what was on the 6 disc set. I think one whole disc to Like a Rolling Stone is complete overkill but it might be
fun to listen to the different versions and hear the isolated parts sometime when I have the patience for it. Also disappointed there will be about
7 songs on the offering I already have but that is a drop in the bucket compared to what is in there. Special treat for me is the early work with
The Band on a couple of tracks that never made the light of day in favor of Nashville studio musicians. Certainly not for everyone but this is
the only thing I am getting for X-mas this year and looking forward to getting it delivered in early November. From early reviews he really
changes up a lot on these classics and I can't wait to give them some spins. Was hoping the next one would have been Blood on the Tracks
era stuff but maybe next time.

This should be showing up on my doorstep any day now. Can't wait to dig into it.

Please provide a review when you've had the chance to absorb it all.

It looks like a fascinating but overwhelming collection.

Got this in the mail yesterday and starting to digest it today at work. It is a monumental task that would likely be done
better behind the windshield on a short trip. Anyway, a very good review by the folks at Pitchfork that seems to explain
the set better than I ever could...

Well I continue to sink myself into this set and it is enormous and I feel a bit overwhelmed. None of the other
Bootleg sets have so many versions of the same songs. It is great to see where he starts with them and where
they end up after multiple takes. Very few of the actual real cuts are on these discs. A lot of the songs he has
either forgotten or not come up with the lyrics yet. We are privy to a lot of chatter from the booth from the
producer, often times ending with an eruption of laughter. Dylan makes up song titles as he goes along before
starting the recording.

I just put in the complete disc of Like A Rolling Stone and I am not sure what I will find. So far a lot of stops
and starts and directing the band. It is really an interesting study how Dylan tried to direct the artists and
mold the songs into what he was hearing in his head. Probably wouldn't recommend this for most fans,
although the 2 disc set might be fun to listen to if I reviewed what tracks were on there. The 6 disc set is
pretty complete and I can't imagine what the 18 disc set would provide.
