This was a great year for all of us. One of the greatest competitors and heroes of our time graced the Land of Lincoln with his presence and led an unprecedented era of joy, confidence, and winning.

And what a privilege it was watching him emerge and then dominate.

Now we are stuck with "D" Rose.

I was overseas in the Navy and came home for Christmas.

Put VHS Tapes in and recorded countless hours of MTV music videos (Yes - when they actually still played music 24/7).

Long before you can get anything, anytime, anywhere on any device.

Anybody remember Bryan Adam's, "Raggae Christmas" video? Not good - but they played it every hour!

Brought those tapes back and they played them on a continuous loop over the ship's television station.

The videos were a big hit... Madonna, Springsteen, Prince, Cyndi Lauper, Van Halen, Bryan Adams, Hall & Oates, Night Ranger, The Cars, ZZ Top, Ratt, John Mellencamp...

I was referring to the year of my birth, but MJ was okay, too.

When the old fucker baby boomers running that station finally retire...or die.

I mean, obviously doing, say, 2005 would be foolish, but I think they might as well open it up to 1996-1999. You'd think Wendy would get tired of doing a 1975 show over and over and over.

That's what I thought, too. 1996 will be added to the rotation in 2016.
