I came across these over the weekend.

Just a couple of historical WCW videos to remember what once was.

WCW Desire

WCW New Divide

I know it was terribly run, and I know there was a lot of garbage that was showcased, but dammit, I miss WCW.

Nowadays, it's all about NJPW for me. If you haven't checked them out recently, you should. The work AJ Styles is putting in right now is off the charts, not to mention the likes of Takahashi, Okada and Nakamura, just to name a few. If you're craving some 5 star in ring action, look these guys up.

The Crockett days were the best. By the time Turner bought in, things were starting to go sour. NJPW and ROH for me.

Yeah the Crockett days were the best!

Where can one watch the NJPW?

In the Desire video about the 48 sec mark there is a clip that shows Vince McMahon in front of a World Championship Wrestling backdrop and then not long after that one of Gorilla Monsoon in front of one. What was that from????

NJPW is the shit. Tanahashi was probably the best wrestler in the world for about 5 years there between '07-'12. Nakamura caught up and Okada is close. Ibushi is coming along nicely too, if he commits to NJPW and heavyweight.

Black Saturday. Vinnie Mac back-doored his way into a time slot on TBS. WWF got terrible ratings and Turner bounced them. This was the first real spark of rivalry between Turner and McMahon. WWE doesn't talk much about it.

They have a streaming service called NJPW world, kinda like WWE network. No idea about the cost but I've heard its good. Dailymotion is a good source for free content, especially if you want to keep up to date.

Yeah the regular viewers of Saturday Night Wrestling on TBS had their pitchforks out after the first week of WWF programming aired.

And you're right, those days were great. When I was wee lad in the early 80's I had WWF on Saturday mornings and WCCW on Saturday afternoons. Sunday was AWA first and then WWF after that. Not having cable, I was only able to follow the N.W.A. when I went to Jewel with my Mom and I read the wrestling magazines. I always remember seeing pictures of a bloody Flair in every issue of whatever I was reading.

They're having a free trial right now. Regular price is 999 yen a month. Sounds familiar doesn't it?

But! That foray on TBS allowed them to finance the first Wrestlemania. (E.g., they had to be bought off of TBS)
