The return of the Midnight Rider?

Gotta give Cody credit, he may actually move out of his usual opening match or mid-card spot this WWE run.

If he did that with Stardust, it'd be amazing.

One of the biggest problems with AEW is that they bring in guys with no apparent plan to build up storylines.

I like Danhausen's Youtube stuff, have watched some of his in-ring work and while he can work a bit, he is woefully undersized and as with most guys in AEW he has no idea how to work a match so they just go from high spot to high spot.

That said, I can see a manager type angle for him where does a young Corny in Memphis thing where he tries to buy free agent talent and build a flock. He really cannot do a real demon/devil Kevin Sullivan type thing because his gimmick is more humor based.

Do think you could gather a group of fans and they would be better at booking than whoever is running the book at AEW where they just bring in guys from other places and assume all the fans know their backstory, one of the things Vince always says is that the WWE builds characters, which is exactly what you need to do in pro wrestling.

They seem to figure it out in the end though.

Miro was brought in as a joke but got over bigly before getting hurt. Omega and the Bucks were getting lesser known guys over in the beginning but they went back to what works for them and it paid off.

Danhausen still can't work after the leg injury, so having him do random things aren't bad. Similar to Orange Cassidy in the beginning. Just doing things to get over with the crowd.

Tony Khan dealing with real talent now should be interesting.

bummer that WWE and Cesaro couldnt come to a deal. That was such a fun run to last wrestlemania for him. Guy is definitely a worker and deserves a decent push for at least IC championship.

Yeah that's a guy that should have been a money draw. He could work, he got over, and he could talk enough. Just never seemed to be enough for Vince though.

Except that Vince hasn’t listened to his own philosophies for about 20 years.

Hey Vince built Roman Reigns. Eventually. By going against everything he wanted to do.

or get him a mic guy. maybe not to the level of a boisterous Heyman. Hed probably have to go heel for that to work. But if they arent going to do anything with the Angle-Alpha Academy any more, let Angle be the advocate for the Swiss Superman.

They had him with Heyman at one point. He was with Dutch and Swagger, too. Some of his best moments were his team with Sheamus. Vince is just old and dumb.

where's chris hero / kassius ohno these days? if he's free from the E him and claudio can reform the kings of wrestling and get another proper fucking tag team into AEW, then when FTR heals up they can have two amazing tagteams that they do absolutely nothing with!!!

The AEW tag team division was initially full of little guys like the Bucks who really don't have matches, but just go from high spot to high spot with little selling or psychology, it made almost comical watching them set up the required dive to the floor as the recipients of the dive would look up and wait in place for the little dude to run across the ring and do the dive. The matches were disjointed, and everyone looked the same and did the same moves. FTR is more of a traditional tag team with guys working body parts, getting heat, and then setting up the hot tag for the babyface.

Never got the Bucks, they look like Junior High social studies teachers, nobody that looks at them buy them as dominant, could only image how the Road Warriors in their prime would deal with the Bucks, they would sell nothing and toss them around like rag dolls, but that was back when guys understood the business.

are WWE or other leagues doing well these days? I saw Friday night Smackdown on Fox a few weeks ago and it was so dis-interesting. All the wrestlers were vanilla and silly it was hard to take any of them seriously as performers. The storylines were terrible as well.

Where are all the big personalities?

Big show at the Garden last night headlined by Brock vs....Austin Theory.

In another squash.

Theory will also get beat at Mania by an announcer.

That's probably not the way to build young talent.

He tweeted out that he ended up cracking two vertebrae that will not require surgery. He was EXTREMELY lucky.
