He was world champ a few years ago - basically did the Del Rio gimmick as a rich white guy though. He had a great feud with Eddie over the WHC and was the first superstar to put Punk over when he had his first title run. Before that he was the other half of the APA with Farooq (Ron Simmons aka the guy who says "DAMN!")

An old cracker from Texas crying as he talks about Simmons being his best friend, while making the crowd go crazy with reaction, is simply stunning. JBL gives me a glimmer of hope for the Republican party I used to consider myself a part of long ago.
