Evolution occurs due to favorable traits being passed on through survival of those individuals with the trait. Short people breed just as much as tall people. It has to be due to nutrition/health standards.

My son is pushing 6'3 which for a full blooded Italian makes him some kind of freak amongst his people.

Being tall is a favorable physical trait.

You're kidding, right? Nothing "evolves" in a single generation. Any increase in height is due only to changes in nutrition/standards of living.

A century isn't a generation and evolutionary traits absolutely unfold within 100 years.

No. And certainly not to the degree you're suggesting.

What do you mean, no? Yes. It is a fact that evolutionary traits will manifest within a century. Whether being taller as a species today is a result of that or nutritional changes is up for debate I guess, but what I posted isn't.

Do tall people produce more offspring?

It was favorable when we had to reach fruit on trees to survive. Now we just go to Jewel.

And ask the tall clerk to get that cereal box on the top shelf.

I mean no. Not within human beings where a century is two to three generations tops. Evolution occurs over long, long periods of time. Even if we accept the idea that height is a favorable variation (I'm not sure it is and I believe taller people have shorter life spans), the change over such a period of time would be so slight as to be unnoticeable.

Just wait until 100 years from now when people will be sooo big and tall Edzo, that stadia throughout sports can only hold half the people they used to due to their increased size and the people who arent lucky enough to be one of the attendees will have their fandom questioned because they have to watch sports at home.

 I think we're already there. Have you ever ended up next to a 350 lb. man in one of those little seats at Wrigley? But an answer has been provided for the fat rich people in the form of "scout seats". They even have waitresses so the fat asses don't have to exercise any muscles in order to shove hot dogs and Old Style into their faces. The fat poor people can go fuck themselves or pay exorbitant prices for cable to help finance Ricketts runs for governor.
