That was a whole bunch of suck.

The pull apart brawl at the end was very very lame.

If you're running an old school promotion, he doesn't stay strong. With the exception of the multiple 2 1/2 count Japanese close falls. No jokes. That style was perfected in Japan, and Johnny Skateboard of all people brought it back strong. However, they have about eight hours of weekly television, on top of YouTube, etc. Ziggler's not in a spot to be a top-three match at Mania. Worst case scenario, Ziggler jobbed multiple times to someone who will be Hogan walking out of WM. They had very competitive matches with a story attached. He also still has the briefcase. He's the perfect opponent right now for Cena.

/\/\ Fair point. But if they're behind him, that could easily be overcome. Fire Big E, tell Big E to get better, dump AJ, tell AJ to get better, use the case, don't use the case, defeat one other guy on the way down clean, have a Jericho WCW break leading to the previously mentioned deals, etc. LOL.

It's a new day kids. The stuff you have to book properly has always been the main event. Even in the glorious Attitude Era.

How do you feel about what I said a bit earlier:

If Rock beats Punk, after nobody else could for 420some days, doesn't it kind of make a mockery of the entire roster?

Yes. If it's presented that way. That's the problem with this part time thing. However, I believe the plan from the time Rock returned was for Cena to go over at the third Mania. Now, Cena defeated the guy that beat Punk. Punk beat Cena many times. Cena gets another run, which could be interesting. He hasn't had the belt for a long time, and has been a main event jobber for the last 1 1/2 years. They also have countless guys ready to break that main event barrier.

So no Austin, HBK, or Undertaker. This one didn;t do much, because there was hope they would set up Mania with Punk vs Taker.

If you took all the 20-year mentions, there's no way in hell anyone would be able to inherently know that this was supposed to be a special show.

They've gotten a couple weeks of attentive viewing, and haven't delivered .... looks like it's a couple hours of Different Strokes on antenna tv next week.

Despite my defense of the Cena v Ziggler deal, after shitting on it at the beginning, this was the worst highly promoted RAW I can remember. Ever.

I understand that they are trying to build new stars and keep those guys at the forefront bu....Oh shit The Rock is headlining their 2nd biggest PPV. Well at least they are keeping their stars clean and off the ster....Have I seen The Rock lately? Oh damn is that acne on his back? At least they won't make the mistake of having such a huge stage as their 20th anniversary show and let it go to waste...FML I can't get anything right.

What in the everloving fuck was that?

I was mildly excited to see what would happen with Raw, and it was bad.

Not The Patriot bad. Not Max Moon bad.

The Boogeyman bad.

It was. It was really bad. Even the Bryan/Kane/Sandow/Cody/Therapist segment, which you figured could've/would've/should've been comedy gold......but NOOOOOOOOOoooooo, way over scripted, choppy, over acted and sucky.

no way dude, like i said earlier in one of these posts the 3hr raw thing has been totally misused from the beginning. instead of putting on more matches between low-mid carders and effectively giving a bigger % of the roster a push, much of raw has been serialized into THE VINCE MCMAHON COMEDY HOUR, or "for whom the bell tolls" or whatever you'd call the formal soap opera. think about how much time lately has been given to the various hijinks ensuing with AJ and her lovestruck vajayjay.

i also want to point out that the return of the rock has gone through a cena-i-zation (kind of like a hockey franchise) in that last week i distinctly remember him cracking jokes about tattoos on punk's butt cheeks, and this week he had to whip out his guitar (again) and be the WWE's go-to-adam-sandler guy.... and it's all sophomoric-at-best humor and whatnot, which is telling me that this whole rock thing is basically aimed at kids.... prolly a handshake deal between both sides so this way when dewayne does tooth fairy 2 or return to the return of witch mountain that many more kids are already familiar with the brand. wasn't it last year that an anonymous backstage source (thought to be punk) was questioning what "dewayne" was doing back in the E? what did he have to gain?

when he's basically doing stupid cena-caliber-promos all juvenile and "...cuz i said so" in the face of punk's angsty internet fan "gimmick"..... it's almost like vince is explicitly flipping off the kind of people who think along the lines of punk's promos and then pulling out the hudsucker proxy line that's used as a crutch whenever doctor who sucks.... "you know, for kids" aka "well this is pro wrestling and its a kids show so why do you care?"

kinda sad to see, cuz man, seeing the rock show up and do his thing at the 2011 survivor series.... dude has star power. he put on a show there.... there was a hallowed energy in the building.... and now basically they wanna take the potential of that and get him over with the kids so he can have a poop/butt-off with cena to highlight mania.... does vegas have odds on who gets to pull the cord to unleash the 50lbs of shit above the ring at the end of the match yet?

And thus the inevitable countdown to the battle of the two cartoon characters headlining mania is underway. This time Rock has the strap going in so when cena wins its a forced "passing of the torch" moment like hofan/roxk nearly 10 years, ago, except this time the strap is incolved so "all is right in the world" when the cartoon superface wins, 8 year olds across the world rejoice, and punk starts his, much desired feud with zack eyder, which prolly happened on ECW years ago when nobosy was watching.

After two hot mania matches, i don't see HHH allowing anyone else to work with taker. He wants in on that glory... why let a,lil pissant like punk get a piece of that when he KNOWS the world is BEGGING for HHH/Taker 4 or 5 or whatever.

Stupid wrestling thought.

Disappointing RAW to say the least. How can you have a 20 yr anniversary show and not have Austin, HBK, and Taker at least make an appearance??? Big Show in the first segment? Lots of bad.

I actually thought to myself last night when Big Show came out that the show was gonna suck if that's what they decided to start with. I continued to sit through 3 plus hours of a boring same old same old show. Shame on me.

Looking back on what I thought would be an awesome show the highlight for me was Cesaro getting after Flair and then Flair elbow dropping the suit jackets. The rest was pretty uneventful and disappointing.

yeah for some reason seeing Flair act like an idiot out there is always good for a chuckle.

I enjoyed the Rock's song about Vicky too. But that was about it.

Guess Austin and HBK had previous commitments, rather disappointing. Kind of shows you how they feel about the WWE and the fans.

Yes, because a 20th Anniversary show of the company that made you famous just kind of sneaks up on a couple of Texas guys.
