Predictions:

Kane beats Cena. Ryder heel turn.
Daniel Bryan keeps the title.
Punk retains title by DQ. Jericho attacks Punk and is aligned with Johnny Ace.
Randall Keith Orkman wins the Rumbel.

meltzer said the same as far as Hacksaw, Road Dogg, and Animal.

I think you'll have Jericho and Steph screw Punk out of the title,
Bryan wins the cage match and steals the show,
Cena v Kane will have some wacky special effects spot which will cause a fuck finish and this feud will continue. They teased an Eve heel turn Monday so maybe they'll so something with that. Have a spot where Kane is going to chokeslam her to hell and Cena has to lay down basically, she turns on him and Kane and Eve "send him to hell" thru the stage or something backstage. pyro, smoke, stuff.

Alberto gets #25, eliminates LCW to win.

So if Punk gets screwed out of the title by Jericho and Steph that makes Ziggler the champ heading into No Way Out. Do they than try and flip the belt back to Cena as I can't see them going into WM with Ziggler as the champion? I don't mind Ziggler getting the push of being the champion at WM because it can help him in the long run especially when The Rock and Cena are already going to headline WM anyways. I just don't know if they have someone for Ziggler to face as champion at WM.

I could see Randy Orton facing Daniel Bryan at WM and Orton going over though.

According to several sources, WWE Superstar Christian has arrived in St. Louis, the site of this year's Royal Rumble PPV.

Christian has been out with an injury since early November, and WWE officials had hoped he would return in time for WrestleMania. No word yet on whether Christian will appear at the PPV or participate in the Rumble match itself.

Animal reported that he won't be at the Rumble this year as they weren't able to work out a deal in time. Like really Joe, you didn't have enough time to sober up to make it to the Rumble to collect probably a quick 5k and get tossed over the top rope? Man that sucks.

this is what i was thinking a few days ago. like wwe booking, it changes by the hour.

I think something close to this

Have Punk lose the belt at RR via interference by Stephico. Jericho really has no motive against Punk other than the title and he's better off taking him straight on rather than costing him the title. Stephanie has the motive since Punk called her an idiot, Trips a doofus and her entire family stupid. She can hire Jericho to take out Punk, they get their feud and the videos make sense somehow. I think this is pretty much what KS said before.

Then, Ziggler loses the belt at Elimination Chamber to either Rey, Alberto or probably the Miz. Since Miz needs the belt and a push really bad he can have a title match at Mania. Problem is there's no decent faces on the Raw side (other than LCW - assuming he's back) that doesn't already have a match. So you need to turn him face at the Rumble or EC somehow so he can face someone like Alberto or Ziggler at Mania. Orton wins the RR and fights Henry at Mania so you don't have to factor that in. You could also have Ziggler go into Mania as champ vs a face Miz. One way to turn him face would to be bring back Maryse at the RR.

Or you have Swagger win the RR and unify the titles at Mania.

The rumble is going to be broken into four parts. First, they'll start w/ a divas match. Then HHH will talk for 45 minutes. Then Shawn Michaels will show up and strut for 10 min. Then part one of the rumble. Then they'll show a few clips of the past three raws. Then VKM will growl for 20 min, before being interrupted by SCSA, who'll spit and spill beer for an hour and a half. Then the Rumble will continue. Then HHH will respond to HBK's strutting. Then Cena will come out and flip his jaws for 1/2 an hour. Then part 3 of the Rumble. Then Michael Cole will take the ring and bash JR, even though he hasn't been around in years. Then the rumble will finish, with both of the last two contestants feet hitting the floor simultaneously.

Post subject:  Re: Royal Rumbel ppv 1/29/12

for my final four... i'm going to go with a somewhat-hackneyed lot:

- jericho (my winner, as his victory + interference with punk's match will set up the program vs punk @ mania)
- orton (has been insignificant lately. this "good showing" = a push w/o title)
- KANER (monster heel steez. it'll take a "massive effort" to eliminate him)
- mystery combatant (hacksaw, road warrior, or whoever else was mentioned as cashing in a favor with HHH. keep hope alive... convince the 8 year olds that "anything can happen" etc. basically someone not formally announced to be in this will be in the final four)

but jericho wins it. i mean, mania is ~2-3 months off so what, there's another ~2 PPVs between now and then? it's feasible to see punk get a decent reign and build up a program with jericho, with the aforementioned "best in the world" title being a sticking point. keeping score will rejoice for being right.

then again, i could be wrong... they could have someone win this to fight for the "who gives a fuck" world heavyweight/smackdown title and therefore jericho is a late exit and someone else wants daniel bryan's glory.... but really, i think the big "angle" of the night is building up jericho/punk @ mania to be the #1b match to cena/rock "multigenerational" match and i suspect tonight will play out with jericho and punk @ odds with each other.

also, i'm with peeps that the rumbel closes the show. it's not called THE WWE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHUP ppv, it's called THE ROYAL RUMBEL so we're gonna end with a rumbel and the drama of WHO GETS TO FIGHT FOR A POTENTIALLY-MEANINGLESS HIGH-CARD MATCH @ MANIA under the glory that is cena/rock and jericho/punk.

but does he want the smackdown/B championship? aka "his" championship as king of the lepers over on smackdown... or does he want a taste of the REAL title?

the world may never know.... * crunch *
