Drago would destroy Clubber.

Mickey was a total dick

Adrian was a bad wife

Tony, the mob boss, should have had a bigger role

These trainers (Rocky's Apallo's, Clubber's, Drago's...etc...) were some of the worst trainers ever. A lot of time was dedicated to speed and punching, but very little, if any, dedicated to actually blocking or making an attempt to block a punch...

Disagree Ivan.

100% of the time a manager yells in a Rocky movie, his guy starts winning.

Clubber's manager especially

Duke would have been a good mult to just break into random board battles and yell, "LET IT GO!!"

He's got better facial expressions in this scene but I couldn't find a pic. So this would have to suffice as an avatar.

Virtual multing.

That doesn't change the fact that Rocky's face was turned into mush in just about every fight he participated in. Gotta think that some of the chicken chasing time could have been devoted to defense.

Don't get me wrong, real boxing would make a HUGETM comeback if everyone just stopped blocking punches and had to have their eyelids cut just to get through the next round...

Rocky IV was good fun. But the movies run time was about 80 minutes.....with about 30 minutes of that being training/memory montages set to rockin' tunes. Funny thing was that many parts of the "Memory" montages of fights, Apollo (No Easy Way Out) were from ROCKY IV....montages with clips from the same fucking movie!

Brilliant!

Rocky IV, not Reagan or any other politician, ended the Cold War. Most important movie in American History.

Correct.

Rocky challenged our preconceptions of the Cold War, the Russians and most importantly ourselves. He was the nations mirror from which we saw what we were, are and could be.

Rock proved to us, in mortal combat, that if he himself could change, if Drago could change then we could as a species could change.

And change we did.

You'd be surprised how many people deny or fail to realize that.
