Road Warrior Animal Says Sting Isn't An Icon Unless He Passes Through WWE
By Daniel Pena
Mar 10, 2012 - 5:24:19 PM

WWE Hall Of Famer Road Warrior Animal, who hosts Extreme Pro Wrestling Radio on 100.3 KFAN in Minneapolis, Minnesota, stated during a recent show that he doesn't think Sting is a wrestling icon until he passes through WWE.

"Sting is not in the same league as guys like Triple H, Stone Cold, The Rock. Sting will never be considered a legend or icon until he lets his pride go and joins WWE. He needs to bury his personal issues and just get into the WWE. Sting has to come over to the WWE to be that guy, it's a bigger stage. Impact is one thing, the WWE is a way bigger thing," Animal said.

Animal also takes credit for Sting's arrival to the National Wrestling Alliance in 1987.

"The NWA was looking for a spot for Sting and I said make him a brother in paint and then Sting joined us (Road Warriors) in our six-man matches," he said.

On the best singles worker of all time, Animal said, "Easily, (Ric) Flair!"

This is all a CrankyVince conspiracy to get Sting to want to join the WWE, so he can be buried by Santino on Smackdown.

Wouldn't doubt it. Look at all the former WCW top level talent that was humiliated, buried and annihilated by Vince when WCW was bought out.

Don't think for a second that Vince wouldn't waste a solid talent like Sting (not so sure anymore, probably still is....) to stroke his ego.

DDP stalking UT's wife was brutal.

Yeah.

At least DDP wasn't too big of a pussy to go try his hand with Vince.

:P

Yeah.

I think Sting knows (And he's right) that Vince will just bury him and destroy him if he was to come over to WWE. But, maybe Vince has softened a bit with his stance on WCW workers? Probably not and he would probably fuck up Sting and have him interfering in mid-card matches and feuding with Kane or something.

I hated DDP on the LOW thing, but let's give the guy some credit. He started training at my age to become a wrestler, which is almost impossible. He had some ring skills, and decent mic skills. He turned that into a huge career, and he was very over. Plus, he shared his wife! Bisch knows what I'm talking about.

Sting is obviously better, but let's not shit on Dallas too much. If current Sting went to WWE with a one year booking plan, I would mark out so hard my computer would explode. If you'll pardon the expression.

Are you saying you want to start training to become a wrestler? Baby

No. Although I have contacted Paul Myers about doing a heel manager gimmick.

DDP was great and had the best finishing move ever.

What about Jericho? He came over from WCW and was the champ for quite a while.

couldn't this just be the powers that be using John L brother to tell Sting in a round about way they are still intrested in doing something with him down the road, and to get the hell out of TNA

It just may be.

I get what Sting was saying about his reluctance to join the WWE....and Animal is also right about cementing a legacy and TNA being a pile of shit and such..

BUT, how is burning out the rest of your career at a horrible promotion any better than giving WWE a shot?

DDP was great,WWE misused him huge.

Jerico did have some success in WWE but his first title run as undisputed champ he was a laughing stock being Stephs bitch. I mean she even had co-billing on the WM card with him.

Different circumstance. DDP came after the buyout. Y2J left WCW on his own to go to WWE.

Joe Laurinitis is the world's biggest mark for himself. Read a Road Warrior bio, or watch their DVD. He's the biggest, baddest, most innovative wrestler ever. Just ask him. He loves to brag about all the drunks he knocked out bouncing at a shithole bar in Minneapolis. He proudly speaks of no selling and refusing to job for The Freebirds at Comiskey Park after telling Verne Gagne they would. His reasoning: "What the fuck was anyone gonna do about it? We woulda kicked their asses." Nice. For all of Hawk's personal problems, he was a million times more humble and appreciative than Animal will ever be. He also refused to lick Vince's taint like Animal has been doing for 25 years.

Didn't 2-Cold Scorpio punk both Road Warriors after either Hawk or Animal called somebody the n-word?

Sting in his early career when he wrestled Flair for like 35-45 minutes. That was the epitomy of Pro Wrasslin. He is an Icon before, during and after the WW(F)E.
