X Division Wrestler Granted Release From TNA, Angelina Love Tops Twitter
By Daniel Pena
Jul 3, 2012 - 1:08:44 AM

Angelina Love is not the only talent to part ways with TNA Wrestling this week as Shannon Moore has as well. The X Division wrestler announced Monday via Twitter that he has been granted his release from the organization.

"Just want to let you all know I asked for my release from TNA and they granted me my release. Wanted you all to hear it from me. Thanks all," he wrote.

Moore stated last month that he would not be returning to the organization due to his desire to spend time with his family and focus on outside endeavors.

Following news Sunday night that Love had been granted her release from TNA Wrestling, the record-setting five-time TNA Women's Knockout Champion was a top trending topic throughout most of Monday.

Regarding this, she wrote, "Sooo flattered that I've been trending Worldwide for an entire day now thanks to the incredible support of my wonderful fans! Thank you loves!!!"

Despite their respective announcements, both Love and Moore remain listed as members of the TNA roster on ImpactWrestling.com.

TNA has announced new matches for the Destination X PPV next Sunday, including Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle in a Bound for Glory Series match. It's a re-match from the biggest match in TNA history when Joe and Angle squared off at Lockdown 2008.

The eight-man X Division Title tournament will make up five matches. There will be four "quarterfinals" matches, and the four winners will advance to the finals in an Ultimate X match to determine a new champion.

Already announced is TNA World Hvt. champion Bobby Roode vs. current/soon-to-be-former X Division champion Austin Aries in the main event, plus A.J. Styles vs. Daniels in a Last Man Standing match.

Updated Destination X PPV line-up

-- TNA World Title match: Bobby Roode vs. Austin Aries.

-- BFG Series match: Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle.

-- Last Man Standing match: A.J. Styles vs. Daniels

-- X Division Title quarter-final matches: Zema Ion, Kid Kash, Doug Williams, Sonjay Dutt, Rashad Cameron, and three others who will qualify on Impact leading to the PPV.

-- X Division Title Finals: Ultimate X match featuring the four tournament winners.

And nobody will buy this PPV that likes UFC and wrestling because the UFC is holding their biggest PPV of the year the night before. I'll watch it on the stream though.

Former WWE Wrestlers Working As TNA Mystery Attackers, Update On Jesse Sorensen
By Daniel Pena
Jul 18, 2012 - 8:23:33 PM

- Jesse Sorensen appeared at Destination X on July 8 to address his neck injury and hope that Zema Ion captures the vacant TNA X Division Championship so he can take the title away from him. He then vowed to reign as X Division Champion at next year's Destination X pay-per-view event and cash in the title to become the TNA World Heavyweight Champion. Despite the angle being put in gear, Sorensen's return to the squared circle remains indefinite as it could take place anywhere from three to ten months from now.

- On last week's episode of Impact Wrestling, a mysterious group of masked men known as "The Aces and Eights" attacked both Hulk Hogan and Sting at the show's conclusion. Two of the attackers were former WWE performers—Wes Brisco, a former developmental wrestler, and the wrestler formerly known as Luke Gallows. Gallows has participated in all of the group's attacks while Brisco debuted last week. For the time being, the wrestlers taking part in the angle are being used as extras rather than full-fledged characters.

It was also noted that former WWE Superstar Chris Masters, who has been campaigning via Twitter to join the organization after working a dark match last month, has not taken part in the angle.

Another rumor is that Cliff Compton is one of the guys as well. Maybe Colt Cabana too.

This is from Wreslezone and now possibly 2 more guys.

According to PWInsider.com, top TNA Knockout and former Beautiful People member Velvet Sky appears to be "as gone [from TNA] as can be without having pen to paper."

The report notes that according to sources, Sky is either finished with TNA or is finishing up with the company shortly. It's being said that Sky's status with TNA has been tenuous for weeks, and although she has been in negotiations for a new deal, most signs are pointing to her leaving.

In what could have been her final appearance with TNA, Sky worked the Memphis Basebrawl event a few weeks ago

The other 2

According to PWInsider.com, the TNA contracts of both Bully Ray and Devon are set to expire within 4-5 weeks.

While the two sides are said to be in the midst of negotiating new deals for the former Tag Team, sources are indicating that there has been no real movement made by either side towards re-signing the veterans.

I could see Devon being gone, but not Bully Ray.

PWInsider.com is reporting it seems almost certain that Bully Ray and Devon will be finishing up with TNA in the next few weeks as their contracts expire.

If this is the case, Devon would need to drop the TV title soon so if and when that happens, could be a confirmation of their departures.

Bully Ray has been handling the negotiations for them and isn't happy with how TNA has treated them in the process. Ray would be a significiant loss given his top heel status on television as well as acting as an agent backstage.

There is no word on if WWE is interested or reached out to them.

This would be a huge mistake in my opinion. They will not be able to get over again in WWE after the first couple weeks. Especially Bubba, who will not be able to use the stuff he is now. Devon would end up released within one year of the deal.

The whole booking of Storm as the falsely accused 1996 Sting has backfired. The idea was supposed to be that the wrestlers
would accuse Storm as being the head of Aces and 8s, but the fans would know he’s falsely accused and lead to them getting
behind him more. Instead, Storm in Orlando isn’t over anywhere near as much as the other top faces and he’s the guy the main
event of Bound for Glory and the climax of the Bound for Glory series is built around. During the match with Angle, the crowd
didn’t cheer Storm much and only booed him a little, but the match had the dueling, “Let’s Go Cowboy/Cowboy Sucks” chants.
This hasn’t been the case at the house shows, but fans at TNA house shows like who they like regardless of TV and how they
are portrayed, unless the wrestlers try to turn the crowd (like Anderson working as a heel in Oklahoma City this week).

For what it’s worth, TNA sent ad copy to the Bowie Baysox baseball team which is hosting a TNA house show on 9/1 in Bowie,
MD, which advertised Austin Aries as a “former TNA champion.” So either there was a screw up or the plan at least was to
change the title at Hardcore Justice (I’d have waited for No Surrender in September to change the title). The word did get to TNA
and they contacted them to change the ad to listing Aries as champion.

Regarding King Mo, he’s currently scheduled to go to Louisville starting on around 9/1 to start his pro wrestling training. They want him on the air ready to go in October, which is asking a lot. The idea is he’ll get three months of TNA television before he
debuts in Bellator in January. This is going to make for some interesting politics, since he’s a Spike and Dixie Carter project so
TNA has to push him. He is a great athlete but one month of training before going on national television and getting pushed in
this day and age is asking a lot. I presume Al Snow will be his main trainer and hopefully they won’t be so strong on starting
him by a certain date and go with Snow’s recommendations on when he’ll be ready.

I could see Devon getting released, but I would be suprised if Bully Ray doesn't get something worked out.

Thursday Nights Impact Wrestling garnered a 0.97 rating with 1.224 million viewers. The numbers were up a bit from last week's episode, which did a 0.94 rating and averaged 1.22 million viewers.

PWTorch is reporting that this was the first time since the DirecTV and Viacom dispute that the show has scored under a 1.0 rating in back to back weeks. This is not a good sign for the company, who is coming off a Pay Per View and is heading towards one of its biggest events of the year.

I don't think Aries has a chance of making it out of Bound for Glory with the title. They should be at a 1.4 just from being live. If I'm bigger than your champion, that could be an issue. I'd be willing to bet the plan since Bound for Glory last year was to place the title on Hardy this year. A one year penalty for forgetting he was in the ring at a PPV. He's their most bankable guy without question. The obvious worry being his sobriety, and what being the main guy could do to that state.

I don't know where they go from BFG. I'd assume Hardy's main feud won't be with Luke Gallows. I'm going to wait and see how A&8's plays out to see if they screwed the pooch. I just remembered they didn't have an end to the storyline when it started. That could be an issue.
