REID FLAIR PASSES AWAY By Mike Johnson on 2013-03-29 12:55:57 Reid Flair, the youngest son of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, has passed away, PWInsider.com has sadly confirmed. He was only 24 years old. Reid was seen in the latter days of WCW, where both he and his father had their shaved in an angle by Vince Russo. He later began training as a pro wrestler under Bobby Eaton and George South, but personal issues, including a heroin arrest, sidetracked what was expected to be instant stardom for Reid, who had an excellent amateur pedigree. At one point, he was slated to debut with Ring of Honor when the promotion was owned by Cary Silkin, but the arrest caused ROH to back off on those plans. That led to the beginning of the end of their relationship with Ric Flair. Since then, there had been talk of Reid going to WWE developmental and the company had taken a look at him, but didn't sign him to a contract. He had worked in All Japan this past January and was slated to make appearances with Ric this weekend in Maryland. Our deepest condolences to the Flair family during what can only be described as a tragic, sad day. |

Don't know this guy, but he seems to have some opinions. Johnny Landin @JohnnyLandin 29m Reid Flair is dead. I sympathize, but it's creepy how everyone who wrongs me ends up dead. Plus anyone who OD's is a moron. Johnny Landin @JohnnyLandin 6m .@megganxrose last year he was banging underage girls in his hotel room. Nice guy. Damien Darling @DamienDarling 26m @JohnnyLandin saddest thing in life is wasted talent. Kid could have had a hell of a career based on last name but he wanted 2 b a lowlife |

I'm pretty sure this is going to kill Ric. That's not a joke. He's already feeling very invincible with the blood clot. If you don't properly treat that daily, you will die. This is just bad all around. |

I partially agree. He's a tool mostly because of the shirt. But if he and Reid had problems, it would be pretty disingenuous to suddenly have nice things to say about him just because he died. At least he isn't phony about it. I will say though, that it would show more character to simply say nothing. He's attention-whoring right now. That's kinda lame. |

Ric ought to round up all the horsemen and Evolution and stomp a mudhole in this asshole and walk it dry. Fucking prick I would like to run into him in a dimly lit alley with my blackjack. I too am puzzled by the attraction of Heroin. I mean you shoot up them almost immediately you puke. Yeah fun. True, you never hear a happy story that heroin plays any part in. If I was the King this would be one of the drugs on my banned list as having no redeemable qualities |

I don't think anyone who belongs to the CSFMB should be carrying a concealed weapon. To paraphrase Casino, you can post here or you can carry a weapon, you can't have both. |

I guarandamntee this will be an opiate overdose. Probably fucking heroin or the methadone they put you on to help kick. You put a heroin addict on a very, very potent opiate to kick. I known a lot of heroin addicts. You're right no really fun stories. When I press them they always fall back on the "great sex" cop out. These pour souls can't even hold their heads. I'm sure they're fucking like rabbits. What I have seen is: puking, nodding out so hard they break their nose, people laying on the floor using an enema, because their bowels are cement. Girls that could've been models, and two year later they're 60 pounds with huge pustules on their face, a 25 year old who lost both legs because he passed out kneeled down, and Compartment Syndrome set in, and a guy with 3rd degree burns from nodding out smoking and burning his house down. That's just a few off the top of my head. 3 weeks ago I went to my 8th funeral in the last 6 months. I hate that shit!! If anyone was stupid enough to offer it to me I'd beat them within an inch of their scumbag lives. Sorry for the rant. This is a topic way to close to home for me. |

Best of luck ax7, i can't even imagine... -- Reid had actually just turned 25 last month. The story is starting to get press everywhere. Police were called at 10:35 AM this morning to the Residence Inn in SouthPark, where Reid was found unresponsive. All we know is that authorities do not suspect foul play. -- Ric's agent posted on Facebook: We are heartbroken to confirm that Ric's son, Reid Fliehr, has passed away today March 29, 2013 in Charlotte, NC. The investigation into the cause of death is ongoing. Reid was 25 and an incredible son, brother, friend, and professional wrestler. No words can describe the grief that Ric and his family are experiencing and they do request privacy during this devastating time. meltzer's breaking audio. not a whole lot really. better than nothing though http://www.sendspace.com/file/qqsysy (blue link at bottom) |

Meanwhile, down the dial... Kevin Von Erich's boys are working at a Japanese Dojo. Which, you know, you can get into drugs anywhere in any profession. Any of our 25 year old kids/friends could have drug issues. But wrestlers seem more susceptible. |

This is a tragedy. I don't want to assume "how" until the facts come out. It just seems a lot of young men die in Pro Wrasslin. It's an unusual profession, but I always respected the guys who did it. One backward flip out of the ring and I would be dead. These guys do have a unique talent. |

I'm not trying to blame Ric, but it seems it was impossible for the kid to get out from the shadow. He said if he dies, the only thing that matters is that he had his dad's respect. Maybe he didn't even want to be a wrestler? Maybe he was a kid that was handed quite a bit, and got into the H like many kids with that path? Do it once, it's tough to get away. As my guy A7X provided far more insight to earlier. Just horrible. |

A few points to look at ~why was reid staying at a motel in his home town instead of at least his dad or mom's house ? ~if he was on heroin why didn't rick get him help ~heroin is a killer drug that is hitting the country hard, leading killer in will county ~part of the wrestling comunity says the kid was great, but is that out of respect to him and rick because there are alot of stories from roh and indy scene that don't match |

Do you think he was just cool with him doing H? If he was an alcoholic, or on coke, I could potentially see the Nature Boy saying it's all good as long as he performs in the ring. Whoo. But many family members care deeply for their children, and it takes a long time to get them the actual help they need. This also sounds like a relapse. I really wish I hadn't watched the recent Flair shoot. He seemed so proud of Reid. He talked about him like he speaks about himself, which means quite a bit. |
