I think the list is pretty good. I'd change the order a little, but they're all good choices imo. #9 and #8 weren't totally shocking ------ The latest top 10 list from WWE focuses on all the moments you never thought you would see. The latest countdown style list from WWE focuses on all the moments you never thought you would see, likely inspired by Ultimate Warrior making nice with Vince McMahon and company in signing a deal to appear in the WWE 2K14 video game as a pre-order bonus character. The list (via WWE.com): 10. Shawn Michaels returns from career-ending back injury 9. The Rock returns for feud with John Cena 8. Brock Lesnar returns to WWE 7. Ric Flair brings the Big Gold Belt to WWE 6. Vince McMahon, Eric Bischoff, and Paul Heyman in the same ring at the same time 5. The nWo invades WWE 4. Vince McMahon hugs Eric Biscoff 3. Bruno Sammartino finally accepts Hall of Fame induction 2. Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels make nice 1. Shane McMahon shows up on Monday Nitro http://www.wwe.com/classics/classic-lis ... nts/page-1 |

That half hearted nWo thing was lame. I wish I never would have seen it, it was embarassing for everyone involved. The nWo was running around and hiding from Stone Cold.... Give me a break. They could have made that really cool but like most everything, WWE turned it into a pile of shit and I havent ever really been back. |

Shawn Michaels coming back, and really having some of the best matches of his career should be way higher on the list. Fuck that stupid, stillborn, I'm bringing back the N.W.O angle! |

As true as that was it did give us the return of Hulkamania which WAS a good run...the first time. If it had ended with him beating Vince at Wrestlemania it would be looked upon much more fondly. I was actually going to write on this subject today...actually I did, and when I clicked to post it disappeared. Should have used Word. |

I think he was clearly a better wrestler at that point in his career. If he would have never come back I doubt he would be talked about as one of the top 2 or 3 guys ever. He was great before, but he used a clear head and some wisdom from past experiences to push him to be one of the greatest of all time. |

I think it shows how important crowds are to big moments. If the Skydome doesn't bust a nut on Hogan and boo the Rock that match isn't very memorable, no matter what the build-up. Listening to the crowd step all over Cena's yammering before Lesnar comes out the Raw after WM makes the reveal that much more interesting. On the other end the "Invasion" angle with the WCW/ECW combining in Atlanta went over like a lead balloon because that crowd sucked. Sure, it wasn't such a wonderful angle it was guaranteed to blow up somewhere else, but it sure didn't in Atlanta (not like anything ever gets over in Atlanta). |

Right, I don't think we are disagreeing on anything here. nWo got Hogan back in WWE, Hogan and Rock had that moment with the crowd and then they executed about as good of a match as they could with Hogan's skillset. They absolutely nailed with the type of match they had that night and allowing the fans to soemwhat dictate the tempo and story. Say what you want about either one of them, but I thought their ring psychology that night was outstanding. Hogan would then go on to get standing ovations for basically the next four months and then his return that following January leading up to Mania. Hogan put over Rock, Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Lance Storm & Christian and Brock Lesnar (on Smackdown) during that time period. He submitted twice in a matter of about six weeks i think between Angle and Lesnar. Hogan seemed very appreciative of the moment and seemed to be a team guy. I remember reading that he was different that time around in the locker room. Then he came back in '05 and was back to WCW Hogan. Complete dick with plenty of demands. Actually he and Randy Orton had a fairly decent match that year. It would have been nice if Hogan had gone off into the sunset after WM in Seattle. Was fairly a positive run from Feb of '02 to March of '03. |

I hadn't thought of that, but it's true. Would've gone over far better in Philly, Boston, NY, or Chicago. See, I don't think that changes anything. So it goes over hot in Chicago or Philly? Great for that night. The writing for that angle completely sucked and they continually botched it up week after week. It would have had a hot start and simmered. Just like I don't think Toronto's reaction had anything to do with every other arena Hogan went to from that point on. WWE fans were dying to see Hogan at a WWE event again. They lost their shit when nWo made their way out. Hogan got chants then. The Hogan fairwell tour was going to be successful if they turned him face at some point regardless. Absolutely Toronto did elevate it because Toronto elevated that match. There was no match for the combining of WCW/ECW. It was just an angle. You can still get excited about that moment on television. To be honest I don't remember whether Atlanta lost their shit or not on that moment. All I remember is I did. I'm not for sure if you can compare an angle to a match. |

Flair bringing the NWA belt over would be #1 for me. I was stunned on that one. As a teenager, seeing the Ultimate Warrior knock off Hulk after his run really shocked me too. |

I agree with WR. It would've been hot for a night but the way the angle was booked as another McMahon family feud was bad. The booking killed that angle. |

Greatest thing ever. Also the most botched angle / lack of Hogan vs Flair storyline ever imo. More than the Invasion. I liked the Invasion idea with the merger but they were almost all mid-card guys. If Vince would have ponied up to buy out the rest of those big contracts he would have made that money back by the end of 2001 (goldberg, sting, flair, nwo, piper, savage, burt, etc) |

That.Was.Awesome. |

good call JP, I think that has to go in the top 5. I guess if Macho ever gets inducted into the HOF, that would have to go on the list. |

I would like to see a pre-90s top ten list. I believe the entire list is after 1990? |
