Eye-Witness Account of the Alberto Del Rio Incident Near WWE's Hotel This Weekend
By Marc Middleton
Aug 19, 2013 - 12:33:19 PM

- Reader Jon Napier sent the following in regards to what happened with Alberto Del Rio and Drew McIntyre before SummerSlam:

"A group of friends and I were hanging around near the WWE hotel and saw Alberto Del Rio being talked trash to by two black guys. The men attacked Del Rio, which brought over Drew McIntyre. Drew hit both of them back until security broke things up. The two men were escorted out of the place. Everyone heard that Del Rio refused to press charges."

As far as the way the title change was done, many feel that it made no sense for Bryan to take one Pedigree and that there was so much time between that and Orton cashing in and then pinning him with no additional offense. The feeling from some is that it was ridiculous that Bryan took a one move from a largely retired wrestler after he just survived the onslaught from the company's top guy, John Cena.

I agree with that. Should of beat him up for a little while and then finished him with an RKO.

That is my complaint as well.

The overall storyline is still solid, but some of the little things are goofy.

Two questions I have for tonight. What do they do with CM Punk and what do they do next for Wyatt Family?

Question 1
What is next for CM Punk - Most likely no immediate rematch with Lesnar. I think Curtis Axel at this point isn't strong enough (however he was after his streak of count out wins six-seven weeks ago or whenever that was). I'm not really for sure if this ended the Heyman-Punk program. Heyman only has one TV guy to manage right now in Axel. Just not for sure where they go from here...

Possible savior Heyman recruits so we don't get stuck with Axel vs Punk:
1. RVD - Yes, it would be a quick turnaround to go from face to heel, but damn RVD is about as hot as anyone not named Daniel Bryan right now. Virtually all of his TV matches have been ppv quality outside of the silly battle royal to no fault of his own. My memory doesn't serve me well, but have we ever had a program of RVD vs. Punk? Could be some downright fantastic matches.

2. Dolph Ziggler - Yes, I'm asking for another heel turn with my second guess and Dolph's would probably not get over because he just turned face. WWE completely botched the Ziggler face turn, despite the concussion. He really should have regained the title at some point after he came back from the concussion. Crowd was hot for him during the concussion angle and now he is coming off of a program where they partnered him with Kaitlyn in a mixed gender match for a piss break between the two main event matches at Summerslam. I'm not for sure where they go from here on him. He's a great talent that now is in no-man's land. A program instantly with Punk may have the crowd forgetting quickly about the last 6 weeks of mistake booking with him. Still, tough to make that turn again so shortly however he has played the narcissist, arrogant face during this whole time so maybe not as hard as one thinks. Definitely risky, but it may be worth the risk so he doesn't do some shitty low midcard program again.

3. Kofi Kingston - This is totally out of left field and another great risk - and maybe Axel is a better option than him. However, I think we can all agree Kofi is DYING for a new gimmick or turn. He is very stale right now. His gimmick is a little too 80's for me. I think he goes to Heyman to get out of this rut of not getting a shot at any big matches. He goes to anger mode - maybe even denounces his old gimmick saying he got bad advice and that he isn't even Jamaican. Kofi has some decent in-ring ability. Pair that with Punk, and maybe CM Punk can elevate Kofi's status.

4. Wade Barrett - Once was king of the heels just a few years ago when leading Nexus against John Cena, is now another guy who hasn't really been all that creatively developed by WWE appropriately. Another guy I think Punk can revive with the right program. Actually may be the best option to put in the Heyman stable.

Question Two
Who is the next victim of the Wyatt Family - I'd like to see them go after another upper midcarder with credibility. I think Christian could be a good move here. Maybe the Wyatt's dig deep and call out that Brood Christian guy...and kind go after how soft and how he's just a dude now. I don't know. I think Christian might work better in the ring with Wyatt. Christian seems to get shit on a lot from this board. Yes, his face character is bland as hell. However, I cannot recall many bad matches that Christian has ever put on. Very solid worker. He can be the next one dragged to the back.

Good stuff WR. I wonder now though if they bring the SHIELD under Heyman and have Punk go through them. That would be a solid program for a few months and keep the SHIELD elevated.

Not bad. I just wondered aloud if Punk joins Bryan in an anti-corporation campaign. My dog wasn't impressed.

Christian is as good a candidate as any for the Wyatts.

As for Punk, I like the idea of the Shield but it seems like Markus Aleksander Henry and Big Show are gonna have a deal with them.

Hopefully it's not Ryback.

I would be on board with that. I almost feel like the SHIELD are getting buried a bit. I'm not for sure what they have been doing with them for like 2 months.

WrestleZone has exclusively learned the current working lineup for WWE Night of Champions. What's known already is Randy Orton vs Daniel Bryan for the WWE Title, CM Punk vs Curtis Axel and Paul Heyman in a Handicap Elimination Match and Alberto Del Rio vs Rob Van Dam who will be managed by Ricardo Rodriguez.

Here's what else is planned for the show, as of this week's behind the scenes meetings. As always, things can change between now and the night of the PPV:

-The Shield defending the tag team titles against Big Show and Mark Henry

-Bray Wyatt vs Christian

-Dean Ambrose defending the US Title against Dolph Ziggler

-AJ Lee defending the Women's Title against Natalya, Naomi and Brie Bella in a Fatal Fourway match

-The Miz vs Fandango

-Cody Rhodes vs Damien Sandow

In the past, Lanny Poffo, brother of the late Randy Savage, has maintained that Savage's wishes were for the entire Poffo family to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, otherwise he was not interested in being inducted by himself.

In a recent interview conducted for PWTorch.com, Poffo had the following to say regarding his brother Randy Savage being inducted:

"I gave them [WWE] permission to do it without my permission. Just don’t invite me and don’t pay me. I don’t need their 30 pieces of silver to defy my brother’s wishes. Kayfabe Commentaries had my best interview regarding the reasons Randy had for this position."

Let someone start the ppv thread, but a couple picks.

Del Rio Retains, my crazy thought RVD wins, Sandow cashes in and is the new champ
think she'll lose but going with AJ tonight
The Primetime Players will face the Shield, and the Shield will keep the belts.
If we do get Ambrose vs Ziggler, could be match of night with Ambrose retaining.
CM Punk wins and gets Heyman tonight
Orton does retain and moves on to the Big SHow, will throw out do we see Cody Rhodes do anything tonight.

Night Of Champions PPV Refunds, What Sunny Is Looking For In A Man
By Michael Bluth
Sep 18, 2013 - 6:33:37 PM

- WWE Hall of Famer Tammy "Sunny" Sytch posted the following message on her Facebook today, revealing what she's looking for in a boyfriend:

"Ok so HERE is what I'm looking for in a guy: be gainfully employed so that you can pick up AT LEAST half of the dinner bills... Have your OWN HOME OR CONDO, so that we don't have to worry about waking your family up as we are going downstairs to the basement/your bedroom...be secure enough with yourself to not have to question me when my male best friend calls, texts, or tells me he loves me.... Be at least of average good looks (pretty boys need not apply, I like my men rugged, but please look in a mirror before thinking about asking me out) ... Must have clean, working vehicle... Must have GOOD TEETH (it's what tells if you take care of yourself or not)... Be SINGLE (not separated, dating around, etc). Understand I work around mostly men, doesn't mean banging them all.... Is this really too much to ask???"

- WWE fans who feel ripped off by ordering Night of Champions only to have the main event result overturned the final night on RAW are getting refunds from cable companies.

Multiple cable providers, including Cox Cable, have confirmed they are giving refunds to fans who call up and complain about the situation. If you feel ripped off by ordering Night of Champions and want your money back, call your local cable provider and ask for a refund

Stunningly bad. That PPV was horrible, but do you get a refund if you think the end of a movie sucked? Horrible precedent.

Should I ask Tammy out? I'm closer to pretty boy than rugged, but I think I have a shot.

Possible Stipulation for Bryan vs. Orton at Battleground, Post-RVD Plans for Ricardo Rodriguez
By Marc Middleton
Sep 19, 2013 - 10:09:55 AM

- Ricardo Rodriguez is currently scheduled to be with Rob Van Dam until RVD takes time off in October. After that, Ricardo may be put with Rey Mysterio as his personal ring announcer.

- Stipulations are expected to be added to Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton and Rob Van Dam vs. Alberto Del Rio at WWE's Battleground pay-per-view. There's talk of Bryan vs. Orton being an Iron Man match. That would allow WWE to do another indecisive finish, leading to Hell In a Cell where there could be a definitive winner once and for all.

Having a definitive winner and ending the feud at a middling PPV is the height of stupidity.

Remember when WWF announcers made fun of WCW for copping out of their main event PPV finishes? Yeah...

Then u get this, As we reported earlier today, several cable companies, including Cox Cable, have been issuing refunds to fans who might have felt unsatisfied with the Night of Champions PPV main event decision having been reversed by WWE on Raw the following night.

In response to the refunds being issued, WWE has reached out to WZ with the following statement:

“While certain fans may not have liked the continuing storyline following Night of Champions, we’re certain that the 3-hour pay-per-view event delivered all the entertainment and excitement expected from WWE.”

What is the overall end payoff going to be with Bryan? He wins......and keeps the belt? Draw this out and go back and forth until there is a mania match with HHH?

There's just so many classics.

And they definitely need to dump ones like Hell In A Cell and Money In The Bank. I can almost understand MITB standing on it's own, but Hell In A Cell is a damn match, not a PPV.

War Games.... a match
MITB.... 2 matches

Let's not get technical, mister.

I'd like to see MITB determined at Wrestlemania.

War Games should be part of Survivor Series in some aspect.
