As reported in Wrestling Observer, TMZ and elsewhere... Spike is not renewing their contract with TNA. Said contract ends in 8 weeks. Spike at least is giving them a chance to find a new home, which is more than fair of them.

But I feel sorry for the "good" talent, like Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, American Wolves. There's only so many spots in ROH and WWE. This plethora of available talent might make things tough for the NXT trainees, including soon-to-join Kevin Steen.

And on a less dire but still yucky tangent, Buff Bagwell, who recently has been working as a gigalo, is in negotiations with Vivid Video to do porn. Buff is the stuff :drunken:

Considering their history with owning WCW -- eww.

No, you have to let the thing burn to the ground to expunge Dixie and their management. The only thing that makes marginal sense (to me) is to do a deal with UK's Sky TV: they're still very popular there.

I don't think HDNet will be biting. I don't think they'll be buying time from Fox Sports Net, either.

If you have the correct people in place ,ie wrestling people it would work. It could be done just I don't know going to miss a few of the talent.

But you have 5 weeks left to basically do whatever you want with no worry of repercussions.

You want them to pop the promotion? Sure you can hot shot it for the 8 weeks, but Spike's not going to care.

Face it, they gave them all kinds of opportunities, including live & Monday Nights, and got 'nothing' ratings for it.

The writing is a lot of it. Tenay (to me, now) is a huge turn-off. Taz brought little. Don West's style made that product listenable.

I was adding 2 and 2 together... Dixie's had a deal recently where she's been telling the fans and the locker room that Russo's not writing the show anymore. Which, of course, is BS, as he is and was just hiding the fact. "Why" immediately springs to mind, and I'm thinking Spike figured out that this name (Russo) equates to "bad", and left an ultimatum. Otherwise, why bother with the secrecy? And as importantly, how is the discovery that he is involved tied into the timing of Spike's letting the contract not renew.

And also: I've been seeing pictures of very empty venues where these guys are doing their shows. I don't blame the audience; I'd rather see an indy show any day.

Who's going to bite after a few years' sampling of poor ratings and no light at the end of the tunnel? I can't see anyone getting involved, unless TNA pays them to run content.

Jim Ross is suggesting ROH is for sale. You were hoping for a new venue for TNA on Turner, but their carrying ROH makes much more sense.

Several people on the interwebs confirm what I imagined: Spike wasn't happy about being lied to, about Russo still working in TNA creative. Dixie was telling the locker room and fans that he was nowhere near, and heh, that was proven to be a lie.

If you do it do it right.
Set it up where there is clear responsibilities and limitations.
Certain people would not even be allowed to visit backstage,On the product side I would have as booking commite
Hervey and Bish at the head of the table.
They would have no control over financials, that would be done on the corp side. Corp would not ,repeat have no standards and practices shit.
Go for TV 14,a gritier and more adult content than WWE is marketing.

The people perma banned are Jarretts,Nash,Russo and Dixie. To start with.

In the world of wrestling,I don't know the truth from a "shoot". Maybe this is a Scam to get the ratings up for Dixies replacement on the final show thus getting Spike to keep the show?

They need good storylines and a presentation that emphasizes athletics. Don't need Hervey, Bischoff, Dixie, Russo, anyone named Hogan, Bruce Prichard, Terry Taylor... Don't need WCW/WWE retreads. Am not interested in "factions". Need announcers whose voices don't repel people (Tenay) or don't contribute much (Taz.)

You want a good show? Go watch a Mid South Wrestling episode from the 80s; transpose today's wrestling style onto those storylines. Loose the "commie" and "sheik" characters. No screwjob endings, certainly not more than one a month. The refs are respected.

PWG grafted with Mid South. That'd actually kick ass.

In wrestling, a "shoot" is not faked. E.g., truthful.

You think Heyman would be a good fit if they could offer him enough money?

Post subject:  Re: TNA News

Who'd be offering Heyman a job? TNA, who'll soon be off of Spike and looking for new TV? The time for Heyman, arguably, was 6 months ago.

What's the assets of a wrestling company? Two or three rings, some belts, some talent contracts, a TV distribution contract. If they do in-house production, the cameras and such. The point is, TV's not being renewed. Talent has nowhere to go (so whether its a new contract or existing with them is immaterial.) And who care about the price of rings?

So it's WWE circa 1998?

When will Gangrel be making an appearance?
