Dr Ken and Free Ajent is that wager still good?

"So let's make this fight happen. Manny Pacquiao, Bob Arum, you guys have been ducking us for years," Mayweather said. "We're tired of you guys fooling the public, fooling the critics. You guys didn't want to take random blood and urine testing, so that's why it didn't happen. Then I offered you $40 million, then you didn't want to make the fight happen. You lost twice, now you coming back begging for the same money. That's not gonna happen. Let's make the fight happen for the people and the fans. Mayweather versus Pacquiao, May 2nd, Cinco de Mayweather."

Can't wait! After I cash a huge Derby bet on American Pharaoh I'll be at Chaser's in Niles watching Manny give Mayweather a bad case of Hindi Natunwan.

Pussy Boy Floyd may have waited long enough for Pac to slow down to where he will beat him, true, but unlike his usual matchups, he's going to know he's in a fight. We'll see if it actually happens though.

  It will be nice to see him bring his A game for the entire fight instead of just playing around for half the fight. Manny won't be able to hit him and that's going to frustrate the hell out of him.

Sure.

Still won't happen though. Mayweather states right in the quote he plans to lowball him.

Even with the lowball offer Manny won't get as much money from any other fight. There is still money to be made from the PPV buys. Manny only did about 200k his last fight and there is no doubt this fight will be over 1 million. A 75/25 split seems fair at this point. Especially considering 4 years ago Manny was okay with a 60/40 split.

I don't know what to think or believe anymore with this. After getting my hopes up for so long, I think I'm at the point where I no longer give a shit about this fight.

Manny has made enough money that he wont take an offer he doesn't feel is fair.

IIRC he was having financial problems and he seems desperate. Mayweather already had a $300M deal in his pocket. There is no way Manny makes more money in any other fight. He knows it and Mayweather does too. He has absolutely no leverage.

I don't think it happens either but if it does Money destroys him. Team Mayweather.

LAS VEGAS -- Promoter Bob Arum told Yahoo Sports on Tuesday that Manny Pacquiao has agreed to terms for a May 2 bout with Floyd Mayweather, and that the only thing in the way of the long-awaited fight occurring is Mayweather's approval.

Arum said Mayweather's representatives have also agreed to the deal but have not been able to get Mayweather's agreement. However, there is no verification from anyone representing Mayweather whether Arum's side is accurate.

On Friday, the Los Angeles Times reported that progress was being made on making the match a reality. Multiple sources told Yahoo Sports over the weekend that a deal for the two superstars to fight at the MGM Grand Garden was imminent.

The sources told Yahoo Sports that not only have the sides agreed for the fight to be May 2 at the MGM, but also on a 60/40 purse split that would favor Mayweather. Mayweather could make in the range of $120 million. An MGM spokesman told Yahoo Sports that there was no deal for the fight to be held at the Grand Garden as far as he is aware.

In order to pay the astronomical salaries the fighters will command, ticket prices will be scaled at an all-time high. The top ticket at the MGM Grand Garden is expected to go for $5,000 so that the arena can be scaled to produce a $40 million live gate.

Bob Arum has been known to be full of shit. Hopefully he is right this time.

I can't recall a fight that took so long to come to fruition. Maybe when DeLaHoya was a ducker in later years?

$5,000 for a ringside seat doesn't seem that much to me, especially for one of the biggest fights of this generation.

It's a PR stunt by a desperate man. They're trying to pressure the Mayweather camp to accept terms they don't like. That 60/40 split seems very generous. I wouldn't offer Manny more than 30%. I should have known any statement put out by Arum was bullshit.

Wrong. Those were the terms offered by the Pussy camp.

Why is it so hard for you to admit it's just a fight he doesn't want? He loves that zero to the right of the dash. He won't jeopardize it. Maybe he can fight Maidana again.

We should take Arum's word? Clearly they are negotiating but he went public for a reason. It's definitely financial.

The demand for the 60/40 split and the drug testing has been common knowledge for a long time. If Mayweather is now going to say he wants 80%, that just running scared, not wanting to fight. It would be like me asking for $2 million for my house. It just means I'm not serious about selling.

A lot has changed since the initial 60/40 split. That offer was fair then. Not sure where you live but your home was probably worth substantially more in 2006 and early 2007. What I would have offered then would be significantly different than I would offer now. The fight will happen though.
