You may have to start to ask the question, have we seen the last of Daniel Bryan as a wrestler.

Add to this, sounds like out of Extreme Rules too.

Terrible shame. One could argue that he was the best in the world for a two to three year period there. If you never saw him pre WWE, check out his American Dragon days. Fantastic worker.

I never have seen even one Bryan match. I'm really out of touch. Who would you compare him to,style wise?

He was definitely more of a Japanese style wrestler. Similar to he who shall not be named. Just youtube Bryan Danielson or American Dragon. The guy in ROH was wrestling royalty. Sadly, Vince and HHH really never let him loose in the E.

Is the unnamed Wrestler Chris Benoit? That was my first thought, too just going by body type.

hey at least he had his mania last year and even tho everything promptly went really downhill after that, still, he had his mania.

those old 60min punk/danielson matches were a thing, eh? who was that trainer dude who boldly predicted years ago that punk/danielson would headline mania one day? he wasn't too far off if things worked out differently.

Influenced by one of my all time favorites, The Dynamite Kid. Benoit was the greatest in ring worker ever in my opinion. Though I can't watch his matches anymore.

Now I go with these guys as best in ring, though not to be confused with my all time favorite... (North America Only)

Bret Hart
Eddie Guerrero
Scott Steiner (Pre Big Poppa Pump)
Kurt Angle
Rey Mysterio Jr.

Wow no Jerico love the dude was real good in his WCW cruiserweight days and when he was in Japan.

Yeah Benoit was awesome. As much as I was a fan I too can not watch his stuff any more even though there are a few I want to review.

Come on man, any list of best in ring guys that does not include HBK is crazy. He was way better than Hart.

Now I am with you on Eddie, Angle and Pre poppa pump Steiner. They could all go.

You are correct. He completely slipped my mind. I still like Hart better, but you're absolutely right in that it's not a list if Michaels isn't there.

Daniel Bryan had exceptional speed/agility for his size. He really could pull off luchador type moves in a mid-size body. Back when my stepson was still in to wrestling, we went to Allstate for the Hug It Out thing with Kane which was great.
