Is he completely out of the coaching business? I think he would be a great hire for a team looking for a coach (including the Browns). I think I would rather have him than some of the commonly referenced coaches in waiting.

I thought I remember seeing that he was not going to go through that grind again and that he was looking to wind down to eventually do missionary work.

When the Cleveland Browns hired Mike Holmgren, I think the idea was for him to be the "football czar", much like Bill Parcells when he took over a similar position with the Miami Dolphins a few years ago. It was Holmgren's responsibility to buy the groceries, sort of speak, and the results weren't all that great in regards to talent. I think the writing was on the wall when the Browns were terrible on the field, but off of it with a new management team now in charge. I've got to think Holmgren's best days are well in the scrapbook.

Missionary work is so damn tiring, though, especially as you get older.

I thought he said he was done on the sidelines.

The fuck does that matter? I'm wondering about coaching again.

Holmgren is pretty old now right? Like Mid 60's? Usually coaches at that age don't win very much in the NFL unless you are Dick Vermeil and piloting the greatest show on turf.

I know he isn't a head coach, but isn't Dick LeBeau like 90?

According to wikipedia, Frank, Coach LeBeau is 75 years old.

Hmmm, this wouldn't be the first time you erroneously reported an age on here SHARK. I agree with Frank, I believe Dick LeBeau is about 90.

Great coach. Shitty president/gm. Everyone knows that Ron Wolf got him the players in Green Bay but what they may not know is that when he had that nice run with Seattle...a certain guy named Ted Thompson was there evaluating talent for him.

I think that diminshes the job he has done with QBs as a coach

Im not sure about that. Norv Turner is considered to be an excellent QB coach. He is also one of the worst long time head coaches of my lifetime.
