Mahomes made some huge throws in the 4th quarter. Beautiful touch on the ball. It also helped that the 49ers stopped covering the receivers, but damn....he earned every ounce out of that win and the MVP award.

Look at that touch throwing a duck to a wide open receiver

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wM2gsf9EDtg

people would have been mf ing Mitch for that throw, saying he had a bad arm.

Are you trying to say the gap between Mitch and Mahomes is not that big?

maybe for one night

Mahomes didn’t have his best game ever but I couldn’t think of anyone more deserving of the MVP on the Chiefs.. Williams run sealed the game but Mahomes had already put them in the lead by then and outside of that run Williams wasn’t a factor..

I thought some of the gameplay design and play calls for the Chiefs was odd early on. After seeing how effective the 9ers were at getting to Mahomes I was a little surprised Reid didn’t start countering with quick hit type throws to stay under that defense and get the ball out of the QB’s hands quicker. They seemed to be using roll outs to buy time instead and kept searching for the homerun.

Good to see Reid finally get one tho. He’s a damn good coach who’s been thru the ringer in big games (self imposed on many of those occasions).

Singing about big booties and patting Lopez' rear was more obscene than the wardrobe malfunction. It's our tolerance level that has changed.

Agreed! Dancing on a pole would have had Christian conservatives outraged.

Yeah, the two yard screen Williams turned into a TD by beating three defenders to the corner

I think most of us agree that Damien Williams should have been the MVP, but MVP trophies are aimed at QB's whenever possible.

At best, Mahomes great plays in the 4th quarter simply made up for his numerous mistakes earlier.

I wanted the 49ers to win, but I can also say, I'm glad I didn't have to hear Richard Sherman blowhole-ing his greatness after the game. He get burned, man.

He looked old.

That's their #4 option on offense.

Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio made controversial comments Wednesday while laying out a scenario for stopping Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes in Super Bowl 2020.

“I wanna be careful here because I’m not suggesting that [the 49ers] try to knock [Mahomes] out of the game,” Florio qualified on PFT Live.

“But at a certain point, you trade the risk of 15 yards, if you can send a message — and football is still a physical, violent game — if you can hit him, even if it’s close to the sideline, even if he’s maybe started into his slide? When the championship is riding on it, I think it’s a different analysis.”

https://nypost.com/2020/01/23/mike-flor ... k-mahomes/

How is this controversial? He's just speculating and he's actually dead-right about it. This is the Super Bowl, you lay it all out.

It's controversial because he's saying something so bleeding obvious that a second grader could offer the same insight.

MANY would be afraid to do it. Intentionally trying to injure the other teams star player in order to guarantee a SB victory. You'll have to be willing to live with the death threats and likely suspension. That's why you play the game.

Interestingly enough, a 49ers player(was it Ward?) had a chance to knock Mahomes out of the game. But he wound up hurting himself, He should have gone for the headshot. 49ers win then, harsh but true.

I thought that Reid kept the reins on Mahomes too much and it almost cost them the game. They picked up the tempo finally and Mahomes really pulled it out in the end along with a mistake by SF to sit on their lead.
