If I'm Seattle I'm drafting Richardson.

Yeah for $52MM guaranteed this year, he can hold off a kid for a shot at another nice payday

Richardson will need at least a year on the bench and probably more.

I'd have Richardson sit year 1 and look to start year two as the starter. Give him a hundred attempts in year 1 as a back up.

I keep hearing about a team having to give up 2 1st round picks if they sign LJ. What is the criteria for the picks? Are they for 2024 & 2025? If the team has more than 1 pick in the 1st is it always the one they have because of their record? What if they have traded that pick?

They can agree to whatever terms they want. It can be players or picks.

From what I’ve read, it’s no longer than the next two drafts. If you don’t have two picks over the next two years, you’re not part of the conversation here.

For instance, SF doesn’t have a 2023 first rounder. If they had interest in Jackson, they couldn’t sign an offer sheet until after this draft, at which point the next two are ‘24 & ‘25.

The work around would be Jackson has interest, the team without picks has interest and everybody comes together to make an old fashioned trade happen outside of the confines of the non-exclusive tag requirements.

So why were they saying the Dolphins then couldn't trade for him this year because they don't have a 1st round pick?

I'm not sure, but I'm convinced MANY football experts don't pay attention to a lot of things.

Just have to wait until after the draft. Then they can sign him and lose their 24 & 25 picks.

That's actually a great landing spot for Lamar, Tua is garbage and he's going to be continually concussed.
