The wihtes were trying to claim him last night. The balcks are hoping that Lovie gets another John Fox deal.

I think we need another Chapelle show racial draft.

It's crazy to see all the same talking heads that last week were bemoaning the lack of black head coaches blasting the Lovie Smith hire...you can't have it both ways!

I think that would still be funny, but I'm not sure America would.

At this point in his career, Lovie is just a more awake and successful version of Culley or Caldwell. He'll gladly take the cash, but he's just a placeholder.

It's a good opportunity for him. After he failed at U of I he should have been out of coaching, but now he can re-establish himself as a seasoned NFL assistant coach.

I don't think it is fair to Lovie to compare him to Culley or Caldwell, especially Culley.

He's on about the 18th hole of his career. I'm not knocking what he's accomplished overall, but he's just cashing a check. He's not going to be a difference maker.

The Texans are going to be awful for a couple of years. It really doesn't matter who they hire.

Holy Jesus, if Lovie Claus, Davis Mills and Lovie's 2006 defensive ideas turn out to be better than Eberflus, Justin Fields and Eberflus' Lovie Redux Defense, the amount of apocalyptic horror emanating from this place is going to make the Munch "Scream" painting look like a Far Side cartoon.

Nothing like the rest of the league to make the CEO of your oldest franchise, who calls himself "just a fan", look like a genius in this hiring cycle.

I wonder if we'll see Bears fans become Texans fans instead just like Regular Reader became a Saints fan to follow Mike Ditka.

Did Pep Hamilton take a job yet? If not, he should be at the front of the line for OC considering how much the Texans QB improved the 2nd half of the season.
