It's more amazing that you don't realize star QBs like Rodgers get the benefit of MANY calls during the year.

It really sucks. The rule changes, reviews, and ticky tack penalties are destroying the game. I watch Bears games now, and thats about it. I'll catch bits and pieces here and there, but I have not watched a non-Bears regular season game start to finish in probably three seasons now.

I’m not saying star players don’t get some beneficial calls here and there...I am talking about the specific claims made regarding delay of game. I see the same tv shots you do and it does make me wince occasionally but I assume the official clock doesn’t match or the opposing coaches would be going nuts.

This is the real thievery. He gets an extra 2-3 seconds on every clock and seems to have accustomed his game to it. How difficult is it to look at the clock and it the ball isn't snapped when it ticks 0, throw your flag? It is an objective analysis.

It’s amazing that keen-eyed experts like you two guys can see something that the refs, opposing coaches and the QB himself repeatedly miss.

Odd appeal to authority. I have exactly the same evidence and experience in counting to zero as any of those people.

It's not exactly a difficult thing to notice as long as you are able to recognize what a 0 looks like.

You mean like the specific evidence Frank showed as refutation.

I saw that after my post and added a line to account for it.

I'm all for bashing the Packers, so please don't stop. But specific to the delay of game "no calls", it gets brought up on broadcasts all the time that in reality teams get an extra 1/2 second or so (no, they aren't getting "2-3 seconds"). When clock hits zero and ref sees it, then they look to the snap. It's not like a shot clock with a buzzer. The Packers seem to run the play clock right down to zero more than most teams, so maybe it comes up more often for them?

Agreed. It's noticeable across the NFL and has been as long as I've been watching the NFL. It's nothing new or Packers-centric.

Clete Blakeman is awful.

And after blowing the first hands to the face penalty, was the second just a big "fuck off, I'll show you?"

You can keep saying this but it doesn't make it true. Packers are rarely flagged for delay of game yet commit such penalties every time they play.

When the play clock hits "0", doesn't that mean there is still one second left? Maybe they need to show tenths so people know there is 0.5 left.

When the clock hits 0, time is expired. Play clock, shot clock, game clock, Flava Flav clock. 0 means no time left.

It's true regardless of if I keep saying it or not. It's hard to take your disagreement seriously when you admittedly don't watch non-Bear NFL games. I do, a lot of them, and it's something that happens in pretty much every game every week.

I've posted proof that the Packers have gotten away with it.

If its something that happens regularly across the league, as you claim, prove it.

I heard it explained once that the refs look at the clock and when it hits zero they look down to see if the ball has been snapped, so there is always going to be about a second delay.

Franky has the right answer. Unless you go to replay everytime or get a really loud flashing alarm like a basketball shot clock.

I don't need to prove it. Anyone who watches the NFL knows it's a thing. See Franky, Zippy, and pittmike's posts above for further clarification if needed.

You don't have to list your bona fides every time. We already know you watch more NFL football than any person on the board.

Yup. "I see it happen all the time" doesn't mean anything.

Watch some NFL games and you'll see it too.

You can see why it's hard to take your argument seriously when you admitted you havent watched a non Bears game in 3 years, right?

Except for I've provided photographic proof that validates what I have said. You have provided nothing of the sort...

You've provided proof of it happening to the Packers twice. You have not refuted my claim that it happens to every team.

That's because it does, and three other posters who watch the NFL have already agreed that it's not a Packers-only issue.
