Why would you have to pay Hue Jackson to lose games?

Doesn't hiring Hue Jackson as your head coach mean that you are paying him to lose games?

If I were Flores and his lawyer, I would be sure that I had evidence of all these statements. That's a lot of shit talking about people with money to burn.

How was the owner paying him $100k under the table for each loss? This lawsuit seems very fishy.

I guess they could have done it with crypto and kept it untraceable.

Some coaches get bonuses at the end of the year. They could be for anything. Theoretically, you could get paid for tanking and the memo could say that it's for being resilient or anything else.

We all can look at rosters and know what teams are doing. A couple of years ago the Jaguars started Glennon against the Bears late in the season. We all understood that they were trying to give themselves the best chance to lose so they could draft Lawrence. Maybe Kahn paid for that move.

Really dumb question time…isn’t it against the law to throw professional sports games? Not just some NFL policy but if guys were being paid to lose, couldn’t they be prosecuted?

That's my take also. It's why I'm not surprised the Dolphins owner has hit back hard.

I can see why he'd be mad then since Crypto has gone in the tank since the 0-7 start.

I didn't think he hit back hard enough (if he's really innocent)...I was expecting him to say he would be filing a countersuit for defamation.

Didn't they bench Fitzmagic and trade away Minkah Fitzpatrick that year as well? On the GM and owner's orders iirc.

Minkah stuff was the player’s frustration with the coach. The Tua over Fitzmagic thing had to have been pushed down on Flores.

I have little doubt that Ross is an interloping loon. But Flores is also a kook who was running a defective coaching carousel at the OC position and had evidently excommunicated a broad swath of his staff. As supporting evidence for this interpretation of him, Flores has filed an incendiary racial discrimination lawsuit whose core allegations have, as far as I can tell, nothing to do with racial discrimination.

I don't know much about Ross. I would not be surprised at all if he is who you say he is.

Flores had a myriad of issues that are now coming out. Firing his first O Line coach after a month or so.

Not sure why anyone would want to hire him anymore.

Yes he does. If he felt so strongly about these claims, he should have come out before he didn't get these jobs and when he was bribed to tank games.

NFL does need a more diverse head coaches, but this is not the way to do it. Old rich white men are going to be even more paranoid to hire anyone of color.

I’d agree, but to play devil’s advocate a bit…

If I’m him, I’d say something along the lines of…how could I cancel? I’ve already been smeared as difficult to work with and now I’m supposed to cancel an interview at the last second? Wouldn’t that just play into the unfair narrative Ross saddled me with after I refused his bribe to lose games and violate the league’s tampering rules?
